After being witness to all that was Sin City, I can't fault myself for looking forward to this graphic novel being turned into celluloid. Here's is a quote of the plot summary.

"Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, "300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale."

For further information you can check out their official site. The site offers a video journal of the making of 300, some wonderful art work and other relevant info on the film.

**EDIT: My apologies, I see that there was a thread on this subject before. Should've known better and seached for it first. Mod, you can delete this thread if you wish.**

Yeah, this looks interesting. Although this story doesn't strike me as the kind that should be based off of Frank's graphic novel, it could be pretty cool. I don't think it will be as good a sin city, but I'll just have to wait for a trailer. This kind of movie and plot is something that Ridley Scott should direct, not be full of computer effects and so forth. Could be good though, who knows...

Yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic also. I must confess I hadn't heard of 300 until this project was announced, but after reading up on it and checking out some of the art work and narrative videos on it's official site...I think the project is on a good track.

Here's hoping for a kickass movie.

love the graphic novel, probably gonna dig the movie......you should read up about the REAL battle aka Battle of Thermopylae, cause the truth is even more unbelievable than the fiction!: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylae

I can't really get into this at all. I know this isn't Ancient Greece. It's actually Montreal!

I don't care if people try to make me believe Vancouver is New York...because I don't live there.

Imagine seeing your town transformed into 400 BC. :D
