They are going to either have to replace Crowe or wait until after he's done with that movie with Nicole Kidman and Baz Luhrmann.

either way my excitement has shot up. Ridley Scott plus Denzel and Crowe..what a nice trio. I mean, I'm smelling Oscar already

I thought that movie was put on indefinite hold. Crowe's next movie is A Good Year, imdb.com says it's in post-production. It also doesn't mention anything about the Luhrmann movie.

Ridley Scott doing a gangster film sounds exteremely promising. Now if he can only keep Russell Crowe on a leash during the shooting. Just have somebody feed him lots of happy pills so he doesn't wig out and all should be fine.

I kid I kid---Russell Crowe is a damn fine actor.

I remember reading the script and loving it. Dense, complex, and interesting. Its nice to see its actually going to happen.

Doesn't look too bad, I mean with a cast and director like that, it has to be good.

Haven't seen Kingdom of Heaven . Can anyone tell me what they thought of it if they've seen it.

I thought it was fantastic, very underrated (why the hate?) in my opinion.

8.5/10

Its no Gladiator or Black Hawk Down, but it still has everything that makes a movie great. Watch it for the beautiful cinematography, Edward Norton's preformance, and the huge battle scenes.

This has a great potential to be a great flick. I want to see how R.Scott handles movies outside of gladiators, the crusades, and con men.

Though whenever he handles films like that, he makes a close-to masterpiece...right? :D

This sounds promising though, Im anticipating it.

I wouldn't consider Kingdom Of Heaven a masterpiece. :p

Yeah, btw... I didn't know that was him when I saw it, until after I found out a few days later. Such a good performance indeed.

I don't remember Alien, Black Hawk Down, Blade Runner, G.I. Jane, 1492, Legend, or Thelma & Louise having any of those in them.:p

(Yeah, yeah I know Thelma & Louise had con women, it was a joke)

Alien could be the member of a Alien crusade.
Soldiers are the Gladiators of modern time (Black Hawk Down)
Harrison Ford looks like a gladiator
Demi Moore is screwed over midway thrrough the movie by Viggo, the guy who could be a con man soldier (BOOOO VIGGO!)
Christopher Columbus was a con artist, and a bad gambler, look at his bills, and he conned me out of 2$
The Devil = The dark crusade/army king (Booo Satan!)
Thelma & Louise = Con Women...

......HA! (That was a joke too...hopefully im not the only one who enjoyed it)

A beautifully shot film that is epic in scope. The battle scenes are fantastic and there are some compelling performances throughout. Particulary from Ed Norton, Liam Neeson and the guy who played as the Muslim commander. Orlando Bloom does just fine in the lead role. I thought that the story was engaging and the pacing was swift. The film gets way too much flack from pseudo-critics. Personally I loved it. (9/10)

I agree with Mr-Blonde on Kingdom of Heaven. They are actually coming out with a director's cut that's supposed to have like 45 extra minutes and really flesh out the character development.

Anyway, this should be an interesting project for Ridley, although I'm surprised his brother Tony didn't snatch it up considering his recent work with "action" films, one of which starred Denzel.

Thank god Tony Scott isn't directing this! Although I did enjoy Domino, I'm not caring about his style of filmmaking too much lately.

Yeah, man. I get where you're coming from. I'd rather joke around about Ridley Scott's movies then have to talk about when the Kill Bill S.E. DVDs are coming out or when certain sequel or remake is coming out and why it sucks so bad.

I'll second that. I don't know why everyone hated this film. Maybe I watched it with low expectations and got a good experience out of it, I dunno. But I agree that Norton's performance is great.

I like KOH too. More so with the new directors 40 minute extended cut due out soon. Hopefully more battle scenes as well. And for who said how will Rs handle a movie outside of Gladiator and BHd etc etc. I think Ridley has more than proven himself to the world that whatever he does these days turns to gold:D

I remember he said once that he 'like to create worlds' Look at Bladerunner, Legend, Gladiator, to name but a few. I thnk american gangster will kick ass.
