Tom Cruise, Holmes Deny Breakup Report

By Associated Press

February 14, 2006, 7:32 PM EST

LOS ANGELES -- Not true. That was Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' response Tuesday to a Valentine's Day report by Life & Style magazine claiming that the Hollywood superstar and his pregnant paramour have split up.

"It should be known that the story is 100 percent false," Arnold Robinson, a publicist for the couple, said in a statement. "Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes are still engaged and are moving forward with their wedding plans, as well as planning for the arrival of their child."

The Feb. 27 issue of the magazine, which will be on news stands Friday, says in a cover story that the public pair "plan to keep up the charade of their romance until after their baby's birth this spring."

Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 43, have been engaged since June. They announced her pregnancy in October.

"Despite the malicious fallacies put forth by Life & Style magazine, the couple is looking forward to a long and happy life together as a family," Robinson said.

A representative for the magazine said, "We stand 100 percent behind our story."

The story says its information comes from two unnamed friends of Cruise.

It seems silly to post something that is a denial of one magazine's story and yet it was written by the Associated Press so I thought I post it anyway. It's not that I beleive the report or not but I think it would be just a matter of time before Holmes got eaten up by Cruise's extremely strong personality and she might feel the need to get away. Just a thought.

Well, even if they're not planning on splitting up, I'm guessing the mounting tabloid pressure and bullshit might just make them as they get closer to the wedding, and to the Overlord Of All (ie, their children -- that's how they call him in private) being born.

....I won't say anything YET.
I did mention this a few months ago.
Could just be the media spreading untruths...but I am a patient man.
I watch and I wait.

I'm heart broken, Tom and Katie are no longer a couple. Say it ain't so Tom and Katie, say it ain't so. First my whole world crashes down on me when Ben and Jen break up, then I was elated at Ashton and Demi's marriage but soon I found absolute sorrow when Brad and Jen called it quits. Now with Tom and Katie's relationship presumably in troubled waters, I think I'm just gonna go and jump of a ledge.

GIVE...ME....A...BREAK!!!

There are people dying all over the world, war in the middle east, countries in civil war, economies crashing and this is the stuff that garners front page news?!

....Yeah.

Are the dying people and warring people rich and wealthy and beautiful people we want to be like?

No. So who cares?

That's not what I think, that's what news people think. And unfortunately...their business numbers seem to prove 'em right.

This is menial news, it isn't even news it's trailer trash. The media and some people are obsessed with the daily goings on of a celebrity. I don't want to be like any celebrity thank you very much, I'm interested in making my own films, you know why, cause I love films not the celebrities. Therein lies the difference between those people and people like me.

As long as there is an interest in what toothbrush Julia Roberts uses to what kind of underwear Keira Knightly wore at the awards show or "did you hear, Tom and Katie broke up on sunday at 2:32 PM," there will be a supply for such seizure inducing news, if one can even call it news.

How does this "news" benefit anyone, tell me, how! You get to vicariously live thru them and imagine that you're with Katie and jack off to that...friggin pathetic. I'm sick of this kinda subservient information dominating the media. Surely there are better things to report. Fine, if you want to forget about reporting news then at least report something constructive about films.

End this shit.
