Daniel Craig's two front teeth have been knocked out during the shooting of a first-fight scene for the forthcoming James Bond film Casino Royale, according to the Sunday Mirror. An extra apparently punched the actor in the face by mistake. 007 newbie Craig was apparently unshaken by the incident and will continue to film with a gum shield in place.

Haha.

I just keep picturing the new Bond looking like Matt Dylan from There's Something About Mary.

Awesome, I give him credit for shaking it off and that he just kept going on.

It's not like Brits care much about their teeth anyway...

Ah, good old people who don't like change... :)

I hate how they treated Brosnan as much as the next man. And I had my doubts about Craig early on, and would've preferred Clive Owen.

But I say...watch LAYER CAKE and MUNICH, and tell me you can't see how this man might make a good Bond. Not only that, but based on what the plot and mood of CASINO ROYALE is going to be, Craig does fit better than Owen -- who is already too manly and mature and badass in every way to play a growing-into-himself Bond.

I don't think Craig deserves lynching. He might just be really good -- or not. But he deserves to at least appear on screen for us to know.

On the dental accident note...good lad. That actually happens a lot -- that's why some actors love working with particular stuntment, like Vic Armstrong, because they can trust them not to pop their faces off.

From The Superficial.com:

Daniel Craig can't drive 007's car

New 007 Daniel Craig shocked producers of Casino Royale when he revealed that he cannot actually drive Bond's trademark Aston Martin. Craig told Bond bosses that he is actually only qualified to drive an automatic transmission vehicle, which was a huge problem with driving the manual Aston Martin DB5. Filming had to be halted so that the actor could actually learn how to drive the fictional spy's hi-tech car.

This is getting ridiculous. Our new James Bond can't get even a d-list actress to pair up with him, gets his teeth knocked out, can't drive a stick, and looks like his face was carved out of yogurt. The only way it could get worse is if he spent the entire movie in pink hot pants with the words "shaken, not stirred" on his ass and introduced himself as "agent double-o-pretty princess."

Now, I'm not even sure I believe that car story, and even if I do...

...isn't it the producing team to take care of such logistical matters as making sure the car they prepare can actually be driven by the guy supposed to drive it? It's not exactly your million-dollar-salary star's job to worry about stuff like that.

And I don't see why not knowing how to drive the stick is "ridiculous". Most Americans can't drive a stick and--

--oh. Right.
