I think that list is pretty accurate. I don't know if I'd list Jessica Lange as a bombshell though...

More like a 100 MOST POPULAR stars list to me...

Jennifer Lopez on that list is one that especially gets to me

When did Julia Roberts and Tom Cruise get up too the same level as Marlon Brando, Paul Newman and Jack Nicholson? I think she belongs on the America's Sweethearts list. Denzel is a great actor, but not nearly an icon just yet. He hasn't been around long enough. And why is Al Pacino not under Icon? That annoys the hell out of me. De Niro is more of an icon then 90% of that entire list.

Did you notice how Edward Norton isn't on there, but Josh Hartnett is?

I agree with everything you said. But let's not forget, this is People Magazine we're talking about.

THAT PISSES ME OFF. Edward is one of the BEST we have. And Ben Affleck as one of the best action stars. Who the hell are they getting him mixed up with? This list sucks... it's about 50 right / 50 wrong. I expect more from People.

Bad People, Bad! Clown not like!

Okay, did these people totally miss my fav mov?

Brad Pitt (whose character in FC gave me my namesake) should be under roleplayers (hello?..anything in the editor's brain? anyone who can play a vamp that well deserves it), and Edward Norton should be also. (Death To PEOPLE!)

Keanu Reeves??? Oh, yes, he's such a great actor! Why isn't HE under icon? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

- You're all right though, this is People Magazine. They, like Maxim, need too stay away from lists that have anything to do with film.

Or maybe us movie geeks need to stay away from their lists? Well, acutally, I could care less.

Hanks over De Niro and Brando and Bogart and Pacino? It is an opinion, not one I agree with, but do respect.

Where's Jeremy Irons on the list?

Not that I'm totally surprised, because there will never be a list(acting or otherwise) that will please EVERYONE!

God, i know! What the hell is wrong with these people, don't they have eyes. Josh Hartnett??? Ugh, he's like ugh. I don't see what the big fuss about him is, he's not that attractive and he's an average actor at best. Someone should be fired for that call.

Pretty good list with a few exceptions, but one mistake that pisses me off is Julia Roberts not being on America's Sweethearts list but being on The Icons instead...

I think Julia is an icon.

She is the first female movie star to break into the $20 million dollar boys club. She is one of the only actresses to open a movie based on her name alone. She has to her credit 6 films that broke the $100 million mark based on her name alone, plus 3 others (Pretty Woman-the film that put her on the map; Hook, and oceans 11 in which she had supporting roles) that passed the mark as welll. She is easily one of the most recognizable stars in Hollywood, everybody knows who she is and the majority of the public loves her.

In my opinion, that is an ICON! :) (And I think its a well deserved title to for her, she's my favorite female movie-star).

I'm pretty much satisfied with the list but what the hell are Josh Hartnett and Macaulay Culkin doing up there?

And where's Morgan Freeman, Julianne Moore, Ewan McGregor, Matt Damon (is Ben is up there, why isn't him), Edward Norton????

As soon as I saw that idiot Jennifer Lopez's name on this list I stopped taking it seriously.

Gimme a break!

This is the only list she should ever be a part of...

TOP 2 IDIOT FILM ACTRESSES OF ALL TIME

1. Jennifer Lopez
2. Courtney Love

Thanks:)

I think People Magazine listed movie stars of OUR time as in people who are still alive and active in the movies.

Yup, that's right. Also people who are upset that Edward Norton and Morgan Freeman aren't on there shouldn't be because it's Favorite Movie Stars, not Actors, of our time.

I still have this magazine somewhere, I think.

That's the stupidest list I've ever read. It'd be easier to list the people that should be on the list than the people that shouldn't.
