Anyone agree with me? I mean, he doesn't have the greatest voice of all singers, but he just brings out so much. He's great live, an amazing songwriter, and he has just an amazing vocal range its crazy.

One of my favorite Sabbath albums is Heaven & Hell.

Yeah, NO. He isn't.

His vocal range is 'good' if you like the sound of a constantly screaming pre-pubescant.

People with high voices that REALLY rocked the range would have to be... yes, Freddie Mercury. He was remarkable.

In terms of onstage charisma, I never noticed much of that, either. So he can play the microphone stand like a true rock star, but I've seen Steven Tyler do things to a microphone that would make Axl cower into a corner and suck his thumb.

When it comes to attitude... he has a lot of it. But he's an asshole with a pussified kinda "poor me, whine whine whine" demeanor.

I like a few GnR songs, but in terms of Axl making the song what it is; no. Not at all.

Axl Rose is a fucking joke these days. I was a big fan of Guns n Roses around Appetite For Destruction. My enthusiasm waned slightly in the face of the double album that should never have been (I think that there is approximately a single good album's worth of songs spread across both volumes of Use Your Illusion). I hated the concept of The Spaghetti Incident only slightly less than I hated the reality of what the album actually sounded like. Talk about a band running out of inspiration so falling back on that which inspired them in the first place. Then the band disintegrated and over the course of the many years since Axl announced Chinese Democracy he has succeeded in reducing any credibility he once had to little more than pissy smelling rubble. HIs performance at the MTV awards of a couple of years back had me peeking out from between my fingers in sheer embarrassment at the direness of it all. He should just retire before he taints his "legacy" still further.

You gotta put in a little more than four years to be an all time great. GNR was pretty much on their game from 1989-1992 before flaming out unlike any band I've seen.

Freddy Murcury, Rob Halford, James Hetfield, Vince Niel, Bruce Dickinson, and a guy you probably never heard of - Raymond Watts (KMFDM/Pig) are all vastly superior to Axl.

A good front man should energize and entertain the crowd, not piss them off, cause riots, and/or walk of stage because they aren't happy.

I'll admit; I saw Guns 'n' Roses back on the Appetite for Destruction tour and they kicked ass. However, the whole BAND kicked ass, Axl didn't stand out much more than Slash, Izzy or Duff to me.

And the most likely reason that Dio isn't as well known as Axl is just simply he doesn't go and make a spectacle of himself. He kicks ass on stage and keeps it there. At least, until he passes the torch to Tenacious D, that is. :D

Chinese Democracy is a joke these days, and will stay that way until he releases it. Get your facts right though, it's been 13 years since the last proper GNR release. He hasnt been recording all that time, he went into hiding for about 3 years -he stayed at home and became a recluse. He's had a long fuckin time but alot of shit came up too. I've lost count of the amount of band members who've quit over the years, there were legal matters which wouldnt let him relase a while back too. Still he's running outta excuses now..

You probably picked the single worst frontman ever to pick as the best. He's a great vocalist, there's no denying that, but he has a horrible temper, he single handedly caused the downfall of the band's original lineup- he cancels shows and storms off stage regularly, he's an all around ass. He's a bad frontman, good vocalist. There's a difference.
