Help With A Movie

Ok i got this film that i saw a long time ago that won't get out of my head and I need help with the title.

It's a Canadian film (i think), it's about a kid who leaves the city to live in the wilderness. He makes his new home in a huge tree. The main scene I remember is that the tree he's living in catches fire because he left it unattended to go get food.

any help will be gratful. sorry I can't remember more but some scenes I remember I know come from a Cry in the Wild.
