What do you think is the best CG creation in a movie?
I think that the best CG creation so far is the entire world of Geonosis in "Attack of the Clones"! It's magnificent!
Nevertheless, ***SPOILERS*** my favorite is the beach scene in "Contact" (Pensacola), and also in the beginning, when the image shows the Earth and zooms out of the Solar System, then the Mily Way into Ellie's eye. ***END OF SPOILERS*** It's just amazing, and beautifully done. I'm a big fan of movies that show space as it really is. And "Contact" shows it. I love those scenes...
What about you?
My favorite CGI creations thus far are:
1. Drago in Dragonheart
2. the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park & The Lost World(they seemed pretty ho hum by Jurassic Park III)
Since then, CGI has simply become(in most cases) a replacement for a story.

I have to second T-1000 in T2. It was unbelievable at the time.
Can't wait for T3.

The dinosaurs in JURASSIC PARK were unreal, and Scoobert http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif was adorable and amazing in SCOOBY-DOO (although it seems I'm the only one who thinks so :rolleyes http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif.

oh yeah, T-1000 was great! Although when i first saw the movie i had already seen JP. I didn't notice stuff like that back then, but when i saw T2 i was very impressed. Spiderman was a very good CGI character. And yeah, i don't know but Star Wars's CGI was a department that dissapointed me---it was like[as EMPIRE magazine correctly wrote] an expensive BABYLON 5 episode...I liked YODA-cgi he was cute...

The movie as a whole wasn't great, but Godzilla gets my vote as one of the most breathtaking special effects I've ever seen in film, along with bullet-time of course from The Matrix / the opening shot of Swordfish, T-1000, and the dinos of Jurassic Park.
