I believe this weekend (15-17) was already the biggest weekend in March history, but I think that this weekend should surpass it. I think that It'll be a close race for the number one spot. Here are my predictions:
1. Ice Age- $34.0
It should hold up well, as all cartoons seem to do, I don't think it'll be another Dinosaur.
2. Blade 2- $32.0
I think it'll have a big weekend. It may not cross the $100 million mark but it'll be big.
3. E.T. Reissue- $22.0
It'll be pretty big, but not like the Star Wars rerelease. It doesn't have as big of a cult following like Star Wars does.
4. Resident Evil- $11.0
This is actually getting pretty good word of mouth, but it should still drop between 35-40%.
5. Showtime- $9.0
It is getting okay word of mouth meaning a drop of about 40% should occur.
6. The Time Machine- $6.0
7. We Were Soldiers- $5.5
8. All About the Benjamins- $3.0
9. A Beautiful Mind- $2.8
10. 40 Days and 40 Nights- $2.8
That gives a top 10 total of $128.1, which just barely edges out the top 10 total of $120.1 that this weekend mustered up.
What are your thoughts?

Hmm, those look pretty good to me...but don't forget that this weekend FotR is also getting put back into 2,000 theaters, which should guarantee its return to the top ten...although I have a feeling that the weekend of the 29th will be even higher than this coming weekend for it, seeing as how the Two Towers trailer will be added then, as well as any Oscars it wins only adding fuel to the fire http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Oh, I didn't know that LOTR was going back into 2,000 theaters, in that case, it should come awful close to topping Harry Potter, if not actually surpassing it.

Actually, LORD OF THE RINGS is being put back in 2000 theaters on March 29th, so it still has another week (or more) of living outside the top ten.

My Predictions:

1) ICE AGE - $35 million
I saw this today and it was packed. I mean, not an empty seat in the house. This one will make big bucks.

2) E.T. - $30 million
With all the advertising and fans of the movie, this one looks to make a lot of money.

3) BLADE 2 - $25 million
Probably won't cross $100 million, but might come close.

4) RESIDENT EVIL - $12 million
5) SHOWTIME - $10 million
6) SORORITY BOYS - $8.5 million
7) THE TIME MACHINE - $7 million
8) WE WERE SOLDIERS - $5 million
9) A BEAUTIFUL MIND - $3.5 million
10) 40 DAYS & 40 NIGHTS - $3 million
