How can "Evil Dead" be anyone's favourite? it's merely a "B" movie created to seperate teenagers from their lunch.

I really liked the Evil Dead movies too. I found them the most entertaining out of the bunch. "B" movies, or not.

"Star Wars" is definitely the best.

Indy without a doubt. Probably the best and surely my favorite.
As second, I'd say STAR WARS. Then again, I have to admit I love BACK TO THE FUTURE, so that would kick in as third.

Star Wars & Indiana Jones(yes, the 1st Star Wars came out in 1977, but...).

It's called an opinion.
And now to the topic at hand. Indiana Jones is my pick. (ratings are out of 5 stars)
Raiders: *****
Temple of Doom: ****
Last Crusade: *****
The dvd boxset can not come fast enough, six discs please.

Actually, the first Evil Dead was late 70's and Army of Darkness didn't come until 1992.

I think I can sense the presence of a movie snob in the house. Right or wrong everyone deserves an opinion. You fall into the latter camp but I won't hold it against you.
Seriously though. In your opinion does being a b-movie instantly render a movie unworthy of attention?
Most of the trilogies mentioned in this thread if not b-movies themselves at least draw on b-movies for inspiration.

That's an interesting question, but my favorite trilogy is Star Wars followed by Indiana Jones and Back to The Future. The others are great too.

I think that there is no question that the Indy series was the best. At least the most consistent(except for the POS Temple of Doom) But, that could be argued by only one other Trilogy....Evil Dead. If they are nothing but B movies, sign me up. Wildly entertaining, all. I guess that would make that the most consistently good trilogy. Ahhh, bloody hell, I might have to reverse my vote.

INDIANA JONES
until 2005, when it will loose it's trilogy count and it's 80's count.

I'm a little surprised no one mentioned the RAMBO TRILOGY, it is my second favorite 80's trilogy next to the EVIL DEAD TRILOGY. The STAR WARS TRILOGY comes in third. And I'd put the DIE HARD TRILOGY in, but 2 of the three films came out in the 90's, so in my books it doesn't count as an 80's trilogy

Doesn't the fact that there's an exception (especially that the exception is an entire movie, therefore 1/3 of the trilogy) mean that it isn't the most consistent?
Regardless, the Indiana Jones Trilogy is excellent, but it's not unquestionably the best. Even if you don't think The Original Star Wars Trilogy is the best, it's at least a top contender.
