In no particular order of merit...
The 'burbs
Radio Flyer
Apollo 13
Toy Story 1
Toy Story 2
The above are the best in terms of sheer entertainment. I also rate the following very highly...but y'all had to go and limit me to 5...
Saving Private Ryan
The Green Mile
Cast Away
You've Got Mail (i'm a big old sucker when it comes to schmaltz)
Philadelphia (although i'm not really a huge fan of terminal disease movies)
Sleepless in Seattle
A League Of Their Own
Big
...and a bunch more...
He is majorly overrated as a talent but the majority of the movies he's been in have been entertaining.

I couldn't really figure out the order of the first three, so I put them in the order of which I've seen the most times.

I think much more than being just an outstanding actor Hanks has the capacity to pick really terrific scripts and directors.

He also has a voice that can jerk the viewer back to reality in a split second, though, that's easily forgivable.

Okay, at the risk of offending some posters 'll go out on a limb and say...
Sleepless in Seattle?
You've Got Mail?
Are you people F***ing crazy?
Truly one of the best actors of ALL time, obviously doing these films for a paycheck and a "chick" following(no offense to any "chick's" reading. I have more respect for you than to assume you girls enjoyed this drivel. Or consider it fine acting, maybe they were at least enjoyable). Why didn't you throw in Joe Versus the Volcano? I can't believe he wasn't nominated for that. I guess IMHO his finest efforts have been, in no particular order, except the first one:
Saving Private Ryan-Truly moving.
Philadelphia
Forrest Gump
Apollo 13
and (regretfully) Castaway
I say regretfully because, while it was a fantastic vehicle to show off his extraordinary skill as a thespian, the movie itself was pretty poor. Nothing more than a vehicle.
