What would be examples of this that you can think of? (any film from any decade counts, not just recent releases) I hate it when a film I like ends up getting ugly box cover art! Don't you?

I remember we used to have a thread like this before. People posted the worst dvd covers they could find. I'm sure if you dig around the archives a little you'd find it, but who wants to do that.

I remember posting dvd covers of Mac and Me, the original Weird Science dvd, and Carrot Top's Chairman of the Board. Those are all horrible horrible dvds/dvd covers. The new Titanic dvd box art is pretty bad. It looks like James Cameron is reaching for his Oscar.

Just tried searchin' for the old thread, used several different search phrases, and I found nothin' "HeavyFknMetal".

It's such an old thread I doubt you would. It had an odd title from what I remember as well. It doesn't matter anyhow.

The R1 version of Serenity was fucking horrible. I hope the inevitable Special Edition is better...

Notice the model on the left with the "Get me the hell out of here!" expression on her face. :D

I can't find a picture of it, but they reissued this version with a really kick ass new cover - part of Fox's "Premier Series" or whatever. Not to be confused with the Special Edition, which also had a cool cover.

This cover, however, is awful.

Dude, did they steal that pic of Kinski from Aguirre?

Either that, or they stole Kinski's Aguirre image for the movie.

According to Amazon, the DVD was released by Westlake, which I'm guessing is one of those DVD companies that jump all over public doman movies and distribute them to bookstores, for use on those comic book racks (one in Oklahoma City had at least ten cheap Bogart DVDs, bought on wholesale I'm guessing).

Is Orson's head haunting that landscape?

Just for clarification, Paramount wants you to know this movie is filmmakers Bill Krohn, Myron Meisel, and Richard Wilson's lost masterpiece.

I would put a picture of the Flightplan cover but im afraid that the stupid look on Jodie Fosters face may make us all stupid! Seriously did she have to be on the whole cover and look stupid...they should of had a shot of the plane or something!

Would this be that kickass cover you were talking about?

Um, the "Premiere Series" of Predator 2 is just the one you posted with a less ugly version slipcase over it (I guess if it's "shinier" it'll sell more). I like the SEs out of all the Predator DVDs the best. The black-and-red motif kicks major ass.
