I looked at both the 1 discer and the 2 discer. As for the 1 discer, talk about BARE BONES!! There's NO bonus materials at all!! I wouldn't touch that one with a ten-foot pole! How about y'all?

I've said it in every Kong DVD thread before, I'll say it again: the theatrical cut is great to sit through once, but I really, really wish there was a shorter cut that I could have to watch every now and again. I just don't see myself ever sitting through Kong again, as long as it was.

King Kong was one of my favorite movies last year, but I still got the single disc DVD.
The main reason I did that is because I don't like having to spend more on a 2-disc version. Especially, when DVDs come out with 2-disc editions all the time for regular price.
I'm also glad that the single edition didn't have any extras on it. I like extras, but with a movie that long. The DVD needs all the space for the flick.

He might split the movie in two - like he did for the LOTR: EE discs: The movie and FOUR commentaries on two discs, and a shiiteload of extras on another two. I can see that happening.

1-Disk was irresistibly priced at 13.99 at Circuit City. I can't remember the last DVD I've bought prior to this

That is a pretty good deal.
I bought the 2-Disc for 17 bucks at Tower Video.

I could've snatched the 39.99 collector's edition for 19.99 but I don't really care for that stuff.

Here's the story:

That's impressive if you ask me - $100 million in 6 days. Plus there's an extended version coming out at the end of the year (or is that not official yet?).

yeah i picked up the 2 disc and while it is a nice set, the film itself needs a DTS track. dolby digital sucks. im never seen such an inconsistent format. i mean one disc sounds ok , the next one sucks.off the top of my head i could think of only 2 reference quality dolby digital discs and they are godzilla ( 1998 ) and joy ride was excellent. there are probably a few more but you get my drift. a perfect storm is of dire need of a DTS track as well, to name one.

Just watched this the other night after I bought the 2 disc set and I still loved it just as much as the first time.
