Does anyone think they should release a third version of the King Kong DVD? What extra features should they put on it? Personally ( and I'm probobly alone on this ) I could go for an extended edition like Jackson put out for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy...

Triple dip I mean, not double dip.

I think I'm just going to pick up the 1 disc because I don't care about the Post Production Diaries that are on the 2 disc. Later on when the Extended Edition comes out, I'll pick that up.

If an extended version comes out, I'll eagerly purchase it.

King Kong: The Extended Version-Now with even more pointless Kong/Dinsaur fights! The "Heart of Darkness" references become even more ridiculous! Featuring the missing scene, where the other half of Tenacious D shows up to help Jack Black entertain the giant gorilla!! All this and more, in a mere two year-long extended edition!!

I'm kidding, I like the movie a lot, but an extended version would be the worst idea imaginable. It's major flaw was that it was longer than it needed to be.

WRONG!!! lol, jk ur entitled to ur own opinion, i actually want it to be longer, there are so many more scenes that we saw in the trailers that i want, most noticable are the swamp scene and scene of them filming anne on the beach and she screams, kong screams "herb get the camera", that would have made a much better and more dramatic scene for the first time we hear kong then the how it is in the movie now, currently its like they dont care, like its nothing new, where as the scene on the beach they're like WTF? and denham is just the first to do anything

I guess if the Dinsoaur/Kong scene had been shorter, and then they incorporated other scenes, it would have worked better (in my opinion). I think that particular sequence took up way too much time.

Can't Jackson make a bloody film and stick with it? The fact that he consistantly makes extended editions proves that he has little sense of pacing, and that it seems he cares more about the dvd treatment than the film itself. An extended version to a remake of a remake that is already an hour longer than the original is ridiculous. But it will be argued that its valid, as long as the extended scenes are pretty by themselves and full of 0's and 1's.

BUH YOU'RE CRAZY! again im' just kidding i can completely understand anybody who says that this movie dragged or that it was to long, but i on the other hand i can watch the origional all day everyday, lol, and the one with bridges and lange sucked balls in my opinion and i just love this version and i enjoy PJs EEs, so in the words of joe swanson "BRING IT OOOOOOONNNNN!!!!!!"

another quick scene that i would have liked to see is where jack watches anne as she is getting aboard the venture, for some reason i think that scene as well as maybe one more could have made there relationship a lil more believable and attainable

I found a deal for the production diaries and does anyone here know how good it is, because they either own it orthey've seen it.

I've already bought the Production Diaries box set that came out a few months ago in addition to the two-disc DVD that just came out. So, if they want me to open the wallet again, they'd better WOW me.

Errr, who am I kidding. I'd grab the extended edition either way.

After buying the current release and watching the movie again, I would pay for a cut version. There was so much crap in there that was useless. It probably could have been a 2 hour movie and been a lot better. Is there even more footage to make it longer?

So is it confirmed now that there WILL be an extended-cut dvd? I know it was rumored after the Peter Jackson acceptance speech on the Empire Awards, but nobody was really too sure since he joked about Kong pushing the boat back to New York.

I'm waiting for an extended edition, a la LOTR. And it's killing me. I really want to own a copy of this movie, but I don't like double-dipping. I'm a patient guy, but this is TORTURE!!!

I'm going to wait for the Extended Cut, I'd be more than willing to sit down for 4 hours and watch the movie in it's complete form.

That's exactly what I did.
I suppose if I were smart, patient & frugal, I'd have just waited the several months for Jackson's "ultimate, extended cut" to find it's way into stores, but, my two youngest & I were eager to see KONG, so I picked up the single disc version at Wal-Mart for some rediculously low price like $14 or something. Basically just a couple-three more times than it would have cost to rent it.
So, now we have a copy to tide us over until the big four or five disc SE comes out.
Now, let it be said, that under normal circumstances I HATE studios & manufacturers attempting to force us into "double dipping", but given Jackson's history with his film & their DVD releases, I'm much for forgiving with his stuff.
On the other hand, situations like what they did with SAW & UNDERWORLD simply infuriate me!
Just how many versions of the latter did they wind up up putting out on the market within a short amount of time? Three? Four?

I avoided the initial releases because I knew there'd be an extended cut. I'm waiting for that.

I bought the special edition 2-disc, because I just love the film as it is. Although, I will be picking up the 4-disc extended edition as well. Yeah, that proves that I am a true Kong/Peter Jackson fan........or it might just be because I am in love with Naomi Watts.
