The Abyss making-of was great, I agree. Haven't seen The Shining one yet.

I think the best one though is either from Lawrence of Arabia or Magnolia. Both great docs.

The one on Tron is also great. Very detailed. I found it really interesting. (Where else can you find a making-of doc that pretty much has the same running time as the flick?)

Can't forget the Close Encounters one either.

Heart of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse

Francis Ford Coppola went through hell making Apocalypse Now. This "making of" proves it.

The making-of on the Hannibal DVD is EXCELLENT. It's one of the few making-ofs I have ever seen that isn't just a collection of movie clips, one-liners, and butt-kissing the actors.
