Hey everybody,

DVDActive.com has just released the over art and details for the Extended Cut of "Black Hawk Down" which should be coming out on June 6th. It only has 8 more minutes of extended footage and nothing else mind blowing. I have the 3-disc edition of the movie and that is fine for me. Here are the details and the cover art which looks like a pile of dog shit to me:

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced an extended cut of the Ridley Scott directed Black Hawk Down which stars Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor and Tom Sizemore. The film has been digitally remastered for the best possible picture and sound, and features around eight additional minutes of footage. You'll be able to own this one from the 6th June. Retail will be around $19.94. The only extra material will be PBS Presents: “Frontline: Ambush in Mogadishu” with Interactive Mission Map/Timeline.

It's such a fantastic movie but I won't be getting this.

Is it just me or does Eric Bana's head look really warped on that cover?
Plus, it's an overall crappy cover, I'll go with the 3-Disc set if I ever end up getting it.

What the fuck is this all about. It would of made more sense to put the extended cut on the 3 disc special edition. Well I guess since I don't have the 3 disc one, I'll pick this one up. But I would like to have all of those special features. Well now I don't know what to do.

Well I see now they did add a whole new 8 MINUTES!!!!! I'm sure that just turns everything around. I'll probably just pick up the 3 disc then.

it's 3-discs vs one, with 8 minutes, 8 that's it.

I bought the first release when the movie first came onto DVD, but seeing that this is the version that is the most complete I will surely pick this up and add to my DVD library immediately.

Stick with the 3-disc, folks. The added 8 minutes are likely presented on there as deleted scenes anyway, so you won't be missing anything.

Only 8 minutes? Seems like there should be much more. I'm sure there's footage that fleshes out more characters, like poor Orlando Bloom. Anyway, all the double dipping is discouraging.:(
