What's your pick, schmoes??
My Pick:
"Natural Born Killers" (9/10)- the whole movie is filled with violence, espcially the near end during the prision riot. If you get the director's cut of the film you could see the inmates passing around a stick with the warden's decapitated head on the tip. Sick, but cool nonetheless. I think the fact that a lot of the killings are realistic is what makes this film kinda hard for some people to watch. Films like "From Dusk Till Dawn", which is also loaded with blood and killing, are easier to watch because the violence is really exaggerated. So, what are some other really violent films??????

The MOST violent film ever made. Sure it is exaggerated but also very violent. Who can see a man kill with some intestines.

here are some very violent films:
Cannibal Holocaust
The Maniac
Badtaste
Sleepless
Profondo Rosso (Deep Red)

Zombie
etc.

Zombie, Sleepless, Dawn of the Dead, etc...all are gory horror films and Dead-alive just plain makes me laugh (it's a fun film)
But what turns my head is Shootfighter! The death scenes in this movie are just spectacular

Hard to say but THE EBOLA SYNDROME is about as nasty and violent as they come in my opinion and other Category III stuff that would probably pique the interest of those jaded on contempory American horrors would maybe...
RED TO KILL
ENTRAILS OF A VIRGIN
BUNMAN - THE UNTOLD STORY
The GUINEA PIG series of films
OXEN SPLIT TORTURE
The Spanish IN A GLASS CAGE (just think the awful APT PUPIL made by someone with artistic ability and seemingly very disturbed indeed) is often unwatchable, Passolini's SALO: 120 DAYS OF SODOM still holds up very well indeed after almost thirty years and MANIAC remains the landmark of the American slasher flick in terms of delivering the goodies... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/eek.gif
Goodfellas and Casino are very violent. Although, I don't mind violence in films at all.

I haven't seen them and don't have much interest in doing so.
Taxi Driver comes to mind for most violent movie to me. It's not, but the violence really stuck with me.

Did anybody see Very Bad Things. Not THE most violent movie ever, but DAMN, they shocked you around every corner. You kept saying to yourself "No, they didn't just do that, did they?"
Dirty Harry
A Clockwork Orange
Taxi Driver
Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
The Godfather
Boyz N the Hood
Friday the 13th
The Untouchables
Unforgiven
Blood Feast
These are all films noted for their violence(although there are certainly others).

Two films no one mentioned are THE EVIL DEAD and PULP FICTION
--------------SPOILERS-----------------------
EVIL DEAD is the goriest film i've seen but it is over the top(haven't seen DEAD-ALIVE), but PULP FICTION is more brutal in my books mainly becuase of Zed raping Marcellus and Marcellus then shooting him in the balls with a shotgun.

Schindler's List, that showed fantasticaly the human nature, A Clockwork Orange and Saving Private Ryan. I think Kiss of the Dragon is a little too.

I thought Color of Night was pretty damn violent, maybe not the most violent, but some of the scenes really made me squirm.
Spoilers Ahead:
The Scene where the lady jumps out the window and hits the ground is pretty violent since we get to see it from the ground's point of view. Also, the scene where Scott Bakula gets stabbed like 30 times and then is pushed through the window and is impaled by a shard of glass. Also, at the end when that chick's hands are nailed to the chair.
End Spoilers
I also thought that Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killers were pretty graphic.

I think I'm one of the few schmoes that hasn't seen A Clockwork Orange, but I think you are dead on w/the other two. I think they show the true nature and horror of "real" violence. Both of these films are disturbing, and not coincidentally they are both in my personal top five of the best films ever. Maybe my view is skewed, being a veteran and having been shot at & returned fire; but I think these two movies (especially SPR)show as accurately as possible on film the reality of war.

Exactly, SPR and Schindler's List show perfectly the human nature, and bring to us the real image of the human beings, and that is in some cases absolutely violent and cruel.

Best Violent Film: Tarantino's debut, RESERVOIR DOGS.
Worst Violent Film: Scorsese's awful CASINO.

Thanks, Muzzle. I guess I'll have to give it a go at some point. Just have never been able to talk myself into it.

What exactly is "cheesy" about a hour of rape scenes followed by ugly revenge sequences spliced with the unbelievably inappropriate scene where she goes to church and asks forgiveness for the murders she's planning to commit? AN HOUR OF RAPE SCENES! Am I the only one bothered by that idea of "entertainment"?
I'm sorry, but I Spit on Your Grave is easily the worst movie I've ever seen, and I cannot understand why anyone would want to own such a sick, despicable, artless piece of garbage.
Anyway, while it's by no means the most violent movie ever, Cobra's sleazy meanspiritness is not something I'd recommend anybody seeing.

The most violent movie of all time would have to be (exculding the cheesy like Dead Alive and the shitty like Naturl Born Killers)....
Henry: Protrit of a Seril Killer
A gutwrenching movie with life like violence and not a shred of comfort at all.

Evil Dead is very violent.
Schindler's List shows a whole different sort of violence - a prejudiced, cruel, ruthless violence that is far worse than any special effects violence.

Battle Royal.
It's a Japenese film set in the near future where kids are so badly behaved that the government passes the Battle Royal act where a class of kids (about 15 years old I think) are put on an island and told to fight to the death.
They each have exploding collars and each has a different weapon ranging from binoculars to mega phones to machine guns.
Seeing two kids (yes the cast are all the correct ages) blugening each other to death is pretty scary.
But not as scary as a girl shooting her boyfriend before being stabbed to death.
This isn't a Schwartzeneger movie.
You really need to see this film.

Black Hawk Down (7/10) gets my vote. I own A Clockwork Orange (10/10) and I don't find it violent. Strange.

While I'm sure it's not anymore, I remember that for a long time Red Dawn was considered the most violent movie of all time(number of violent acts per minute, or something like that).

From what I could remember, I think some critics panned Die Hard II for the similar reasons, I think it was the body count they found appalling, especially with he airliner being run into the ground.
I would go with Natural Born Killers (5/10) as most violent. Really not my cup of tea.
