who else thinks that freddy vs. jason vs. ash is a horrible idea??

dont get me wrong, i absolutely love the evil dead, the 2nd onewas very disapointing, and the 3rd one was absolutely awful. i hate the way they created ash into this comedic character after the first movie was s scary and brillant. to add him into the freddy vs. jason is an aweful idea because it will bring the movie down so much because of the comdey he wil add to it. what's gonna happen is the freddy vs. jason franchise will become one like nightmare on elm street; a good first movie, and then will become too comedic which is a bad thing to me. adding ash into the movie will only help this franchise become one of a nightmare on elm street too soon. so what do you guys think?

Andrew Tom 06-25-2004 11:41 AM

I love every single one of the Evil Dead movies, but I don't think Ash would fit in with Jason and Freddy. Freddy and Jason are good together(although Freddy vs. Jason wasn't all that), but to get Ash involved? No, I don't think that'll work. Sorry, but I hope this idea will never make it to the movie stage. I'd rather see Evil Dead 4.

dellamorte dellamore 06-25-2004 11:57 AM

Forget about that , Freddy vs Jason was / is a horrible idea .

Pestilence 06-25-2004 12:20 PM

I thought of a plotline for "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash", which I thought could potentially work.....here it is, anyway :

Present Day - Ash has essentially become the holder and protector of the Necronomicon, making sure its power doesnt cause any more trouble. A group of international thieves steal the book under hire from some strange rich guy and bring it back to him for payment. Ash tracks them and arrives at the guy's mansion just in time to see him unleash hell from the book.

The thieves are possessed by Deadites, but with the outpour from hell, Freddy and Jason escape too - still holding their vendetta against one another. Cue Ash atttempting to send them all back to hell while Freddy and Jason battle it out in a city infested with an ever-growing population of Deadites.

A subplot could involve Ash continually having trouble with random possession (since it first happened in Evil Dead 2). He's learned warning signs of the onset and always straps himself down/chains himself until it passes (this could make for a very much more mature Ash character, as he would have essentially have had to refrain from society in case he harms people). Anyway, in the middle of all the action, one scene could see him succumb to the possession and join the fight - resulting in a four-way fight between Freddy, Jason, Possessed Ash and a shitload of Deadites, where EVERYONE is for themselves.

Personally, I think it would kick some ass.

the_ultimate_evil 06-25-2004 12:41 PM

i think it could work, its a hell of a strecth and would really need a decent writer and directer behind it.

Cronos 06-25-2004 01:03 PM

if it has a good writer and director i think it could be a lot of fun

XpatrickX 06-25-2004 02:33 PM

yeah right, the first evil dead wasn't scary in the least bit. It's always been a pretty comical series...and that's what makes it good. As for the FJA idea...it could work, but it would have to be done in a certain way...but it is kind of exploiting big names for some money.

XCoRyX 06-25-2004 03:25 PM

everyone knows i hate the idea of ash being in the mix, for sure...one of the most idiotic ideas to rise from rumor mills.

LoomisFan 06-25-2004 08:16 PM

I'm one of the very few that LOVES the idea of Ash being in Freddy Vs. Jason 2\.

BTW, that was a cool plotline you got there, Pestilence

i agree with you......in fact i agree with you on just about everything you just said....except i didnt think that Evil Dead 2 was disapointing.....i thought it was a good movie,,,even tho it wasnt as good as the first one, but sequals rarely are.

killuminati003 06-25-2004 09:30 PM

o yea, and i thought that the first Evil Dead was freaky....but not actualy scary....and i didnt realy think that the first one was all that comedic myself.....in fact i found very little to laugh at in this movie.

XCoRyX 06-26-2004 08:16 AM

all i really, truly found to see in the first evil dead was just how overrated the film really, truly is... Army Of Darkness was the only Ash film I enjoyed.

Prime Suspect 06-26-2004 10:57 AM

I've hated the idea from day one. No offense, but I personaly didn't like the plot outline for the FvJvA movie that someone posted. To much going on to stay focussed on the main characters.

Freeddy - Jason - Ash = fatuousness in motion:(

b,b,b,but what about his job at S-MART?! without his job at S-MART, hes nothing! how will he direct people towards low proces on top of the line merchandice? he NEEDS that job man!:D

and on the subject, i absolutly hate the idea of a F vs J vs A. (not targeting that at you there Pestilence). its just a plain ol' good fashoned bad idea.

hell, i thought that Fvs J was a shit idea as well. and when i saw it, i was absolutly horrified by it. WAYYYY too over rated. i just simply dont see what the attraction to that flick was. the script was bad, as well as the story, and the acting was simply horrendous.

and Delemorte, glad to see that im not the only one that hated F vs J.

I think it would be a bad idea. Give the series a break until someone can come up with some fresh and original ideas.

It would be a good book. That's about it. I love that idea but it would take the god of film writing to pull that off into a good movie

Sunnyflower 06-27-2004 03:14 PM

I am probably kinda rare but I personally really liked it when Jason kicked Freddy ass. 2 slashers go well together. I disagree on puting Ash together with them though. Ash is not a slasher sort and I think that is what made the freddyvjason thing work ....as fra as my opinion goes.
I enjoy Ashes' comedic yet heroic almost by accident action...he fights dead peopel. Freddy and jason MAKE dead people.
It is exactly those 2 things that would not make for a coherent movie unless you add to the mythology a lot and the whole point of these sort of movies is to enjoy the current charachter...the ones we already know and love.
That's my opnion.

adamjohnson 06-27-2004 07:07 PM

Im probably the only one that would like to see this made. But it might just be because i so want to see Ash again.

Kevin Smith fan 06-27-2004 07:14 PM

I think that's the problem, people are so ash-hungry that they'd take him in any movie. I think Sam Raimi should take a break from the Spider Man films and return to his roots by making a fourth film. If they do make a second FVJ film, it should throw in Micheal Myers (as mentioned in a similar thread) instead of a sarcastic zombie killer that has no place in Elm Street or Camp Crystal Lake.

I agree with you 100% I would LOVE to see Bruce Cambell again.......in anything......I loved his ASH chrachter and I was pretty let down by the ending in the 'army of darkness' I would like to see that resolved before they jump onto another storyline all together............if somehow they can wrap up the evil dead series and combine it with freddy and Jason.....that wopuld be interesting....IF it had that tie in........

I don`t particularly think any sequel(s) to "FvJ" is a good idea. I love the movie, but I just don`t think it`ll work. Once was enough.
Just make new solo movies PLEASE, New Line!

But....having said that:

I really like your ideas Pestilence!

P.S. - Guys the first "Evil Dead" was not comical at all. There may be some unintentional laughs due to the tiny budget, but none of it was SUPPOSED to be funny. It wasn`t till Part 2 that the comedy kicked in.

There was a rumor of this. The FACT of the story is that Raimi is already rushing production S3 so he can POSSIBLY do another film. Bruce MAY, yes may, be in it. Another MAY may be that NIcolas Brendan of Buffy fame wil lplay Ash's son in it, an idea I personally love.

I heard this a while back. They'd have to make it in the near future, because Ash's sone would only be about 12.

X-Nightcrawler 06-28-2004 04:58 PM

I do. I love the three icons and almost all their respective movies, I love Freddy Vs Jsaon . . . but "I've shat better than this" (quoting a fellow schmoe) idea.

What he said.

p1phillips 06-29-2004 10:52 AM

Freddy vs Jason vs Ash is a stupid idea. I just don't see how it could work. Also, how many non-horror fans would be able to associate "Ash" with "Evil Dead"? Freddy and Jason are very much a part of modern popular culture, because audiences outside of horror know who they are without even seeing the films, but Ash remains a part of cult cinema. I don't see any studio ever going for it.

I enjoyed Freddy vs Jason, but they could have done so much more with it. Throwing another horror icon into the mix would only muddy the waters. I admit, while I enjoyed the Evil Dead films, I'm no fanatic and therefore not too fussed if another entry in that series ever came out.

moobycow 06-29-2004 12:22 PM

It's a bad idea for a movie but how about a Comic Book? Nightmare, Friday 13th and Evil Dead have all worked well as comics so why not?

CMAGUS 06-29-2004 09:10 PM

I think it would be cool to see but I rather see 1 more film from each franchise.Robert Englund probably wont do many more films as freddy so i rather see another night mare on elm street rather than have FVJVA possibly be his last

TemplePriestess 06-30-2004 03:32 AM

Evil Dead 1 & 2 weren't scary?!?!? They scared the shite out of me!
And please, no, no Ash's son, just him please!!!!

Cthulu13 06-30-2004 12:47 PM

I think it's a gawd-awfull idea, that said, I'd probably see it several times just because it has the Main Man* in it. I kinda like the freddy vs. Pinhead idea.

* - that would be Jason, not Ash (freddy isn't even in consideration)

EVILxxx 06-30-2004 03:31 PM

I don't think it is that bad of an idea. Freddy vs Jason was a rediculous but highly entertaining movie IMO. FvsJvsA would be even more rediculous and even more entertaining.
