Henri-Georges Clouzot's Inferno
A review of this documentary is online at:

Says the reviewer:

"Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea's fascinating documentary about the aborted mess/unseen masterpiece that was to be Henri-Georges Clouzot's greatest triumph is filled with some of the over 13 hours of exposed film the director managed to capture before his movie about hell went up in flames. These silent images (most of the sound has been lost) are some of the most impressively mind blowing sequences I have ever seen. Clouzot was experimenting like a man possessed, groping and grasping and striving towards some unknown essence that only he could see. Bromberg and Medrea project some of these images on the walls of a studio while Clouzot's collaborators on the film reminisce about working with the notoriously difficult director. Not many have positive recollections of their time spent working on what appears to have been a bloated, unfocused, nightmare of a shoot from the start."

Sounds like craziness, literally! Anyone a fan of Clouzot?
