Miss Bala is a 2011 film

It opened in its native Mexico in late 2011, as well as some film festivals, and the U.K. but as an American I, like most movie critics and the Academy Awards among others, go by first release in American theaters. Miss Bala played for the first time in public theaters in the U.S. on January 20th, 2012.

How can you have a best films of 2012 thread that is first posted in 2011? That is cheating. What if I were to post a best of 2014, 2015, 2016, etc...threads today.
