Tunnel: Dead-End

Tunnel Sequel is in the Works

The crowd-funded Australian horror movie Tunnel is going to get a sequel, says Screen Daily. Screen Australia is backing the project entitled Tunnel: Dead-End. The story will pick up years after the events of the first film and follow a sibling who is investigating the disappearance of her brother.

In the original Tunnel, an investigation into a government cover-up leads to a network of abandoned train tunnels deep beneath the heart of Sydney. As a journalist and her crew hunt for the story it quickly becomes clear the story is hunting them.

Tunnel scribes Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey are back to develop the follow-up.

Really enjoyed the first one and the whole found footage gimmick actually worked well.

For those that have seen the first movie...
I still don't know what the hell that creature/monster was. You never really get a great view of it which definetly made it even more freaky. It almost seemed like a Vampire when it took that security guard under water, looked like it bit his neck. And when it first grabbed the security guard in one of the tunnel hallways, it looked like it flew, too fast to tell.

For those that haven't seen the first movie, I'd definetly recommend checking it out. Low Budget but with great production and some scary moments.

Haven't seen the original, but I did not hesitate to click on the Spoiler nonetheless. I may just have to check this one in, the original and then the sequel. I've grown long weary of these viral films, though.

Yeah, if you get the chance to see it, do it up!

The thing with these found footage movies is the whole point is to make them feel/seem more real. If you can't accomplish that, then what's the point? That's something I thought the original did very well, the characters felt real and one of the main reasons I enjoyed it so much.

Same with the original Paranormal Activity, the first one felt real to me while the second one just felt like Hollywood bullshit. Not to compare this with Paranormal Activity, as they are nothing alike, but both succeed in the same areas.

But yeah, I'm not sure where I want this sequel to go...on one hand I want to know what exactly is lurking in the tunnels and on the other, I don't, as that's what made it scary...

Either way, this is definetly one I am looking forward to as long as it is on the same quality level as the first.
