Kurt Sutter is pretty angry with AMC

December 21, 2012AMC is run by small-minded, bottom-line thinkers who have no appreciation or gratitude for the effort of it's creative personnel. Time and time again we see events like what happened today with Glen Mazzara. They continue to disrespect writers, shit on their audience and bury their network. Mazzara took the work-in-progress that was "Walking Dead" and turned it into a viable TV show with a future. Without him, that future is dim. Showrunners are not development executives, we're not cookiecutter douchebags that you plug into a preexisting model. TWD will suffer. Even Zombies need consistency. "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" will be gone soon. So will AMC. I hope their fucking stock takes a dive and the shareholders line up Sapan, Dolan and Collier and shit in their open hands. Cunts.
Can't say I don't agree with this. The 'firing' of Mazzara did come out of leftfield... :/

I agree ... but i can't find the article that made me agree

basically Sutter , Mazzara and another dude worked together on a show before all this.

The article goes as : With HBO , Starz , TNT , USA , Syfy and mainstream channels like ABC-NBC-CBS ... who the fuck would settle with AMC now ?

edit : Shawn Ryan ... the three of them worked on The Shield

For a company/network that sucks, they sure have a pretty decent track record. Just saying.

I wonder how many separate posts it took him to tweet that.

Yeah, it's been pretty decent, but I wouldn't expect it to stay that way. If we take a look at all of the issues AMC has had with nearly every single one of their original programs...

Breaking Bad and Mad Men have held onto their showrunners for their entire runs, but not without some brutal negotiations that jeopardized the future of both shows.

Rubicon: They fired the show's initial showrunner after the pilot. And hell, if they had renewed it, they probably would've fired Bromell, hoping it would lead to better Season 2 ratings.

Hell on Wheels: That show, THREE showrunners, and they still couldn't hang on to ANY of them.

The Walking Dead: On their third showrunner now, going into a fourth season.

The Killing: To Veena Sud, they have shown absolute loyalty. Veena fucking Sud!
...then I can't imagine that many talented show-runner's are going to be interested in bringing their material and ideas to AMC going forward. As Shawn Ryan said, it's not like they won't have an abundance of other options.

That's a damn shame about Mazzara... he was doing such a good job.
