The Vinyl Collection Thread

I´ve become a vinyl nerd myself ever since I got a good record player and my collection is growing steadily. I thought it might be interesting what´s on other people´s shopping list, since music listening changed so much since mp3s.

Here´s my latest additions:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky away
Peanut Butter Wolf - Peanut Butter Breaks
Dom & Black Sun Empire - Sparta 12"
Tufu - Hässlon
Dj Fresh - Gold Dust 12"
The first Priority Music Family - Basement Flavor (Sampler)
Dusty Kidd - Kore 12"
Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption (2012 reissue)

I´m just talking about music on records as opposed to Cd or Mp3. Nevermind the original release date. Lots of recent releases come out on vinyl as well.

I got into a big record buying habit back some years ago. I worked in a used book/cd/movie store that also carried records, so I bulked up my collection there quite a bit.

I was picking up a lot of classic rock records by groups I was getting into at the time (Hendrix, Byrds, Cream, CSNY). I was also big into psych rock curios--the weirder looking the better. Took a chance on some real crap!

Lately, it's just reggae that I buy on vinyl now--Toots & The Maytals, Horace Andy, Gregory Issacs and compilations on Clocktower Records.

I did splurge for Radiohead's last two albums in their fancy record packages.
