Plane Dead - 8/10
The Reaping - 3/10 |
Huh.
I'm actually watching: Tom Savini's Night of the Living Dead.
Girl Power! Yeah! |

I wouldn't call THE REAPING a horror movie... unless we aren't talking genres. Lame... but I know what you mean. It was comercialized like that.. as if. |
April Fool's Day - 6/10
I liked it. Was it amazing? No. Was it monumental? No. Was it a fun slasher? Kinda. Was it a good time? Yes. It had pretty good acting, though I guess I wasn't extremely focused so it could've been bad and I just didn't notice. The kills were all off screen but if you've seen the movie, you know why. Plus this has Biff from Back To the Future in it! Can't get much better than that! |

YEAH! Thomas F. "Biff" Wilson Rocks!!!!! |

Primeval This has to be without a doubt one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. I loved the fact that half the movie isn't about the croc but about the lamest 'political' subplot you can think of, and it just ended up embarassing itself when it tried to pull 'social commentary' (funniest thing ever). Otherwise, it's a lightning-paced, fun killer croc movie that isn't nearly as gory as it should've been (why is every kill scene shot in pitch-black and with shakycam, I couldn't even catch what was going on). 4/10. http://www.obscurehorror.com/sleepaway2.jpg Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers Fun times. For the better and for the worst, this was a complete spin on the first Sleepaway Camp. The whodunit is gone, the gore is home (though I'm not too fond with the almost completely off-screen kills, this is a slasher for god's sake), Felissa Rose is gone (though I liked Pamela Springsteen just as much), the more likable cast is home. It's still really cheesy fun. I can't wait till part 3. 7/10. |

Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland Again. Some really creative (though mostly off-screen, ugh) kills, lots of tits, and another new twist to the series with having Angela being a camper again. Very enjoyable eventhough the cast isn't nearly as likable as the bunch from the second. Still, fun cheesy fun. I goddamned loved the cue to the title. "ANGELA IS BACK!" *laugh* *rock music* *title card* Hilarious stuff. 7/10. I loved this series. Can't wait for "Return" and "Berserk". |
Last night I watched:
Feast 8.5/10 - totally fun, so over the top. Strangely, it reminded me of Tremors, even though they have nothing in common except no one knows where the hell the monsters come from. It's just the back-water humor and how over the top it is that kind of reminded me of Tremor. Wierd, huh? Fun and funny. "It's road kill revenge." Ha! The remaked, unrated Director's Cut Dawn of the Dead - 9.5/10 I Love it! See, I fairly new to the horror genre. Haven't seen the original, so I can't do the comparing thing. It might have messed with my enjoyment of the movie if I had. Anyway, even with my limited exposure to horror films so far, this one went straight to the top of my favorite horror movies, and one of my favorite all-around movies. Tonight, I have The Thing waiting for me! |
You are in for a real treat Kikabi. The Thing is one of the true greats of the genre. Nice tension and atmosphere and Kurt Russel is BAD ASS! Oh, and uh welcome to the boards. Hope you stick around and uncover some more treasures for yourself as I have.
X-Nightcrawler, glad to see you got your opportunity to finally see Sleepaway Camp 3 as I know you have had anticipation for it for a little while now. It really is a fun trilogy. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes. |

But yeah, it's just what the doctor ordered. Anyone else know of other fun 80's slashers like this? |
Yeah. If you haven't already, go see the awesomely awful Cheerleader Camp. Although not nearly as campy I would also recommend Hell High. It actually isn't half bad! Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

X-NIGHTCRAWLER -
I'm not sure what you've seen dude, but try: INTRUDER, HELL NIGHT, STAGEFRIGHT, OFFERINGS. |
Oops...double post, I should say something clever.....
Bums. |
Just as I posted yesterday, I saw The Thing last night. Awesome!
I'm new to the horror genre and still testing my gore tolerance. I'm surprised to find it's pretty high! Never had to cover my eyes once. I think seeing limbs graphically chopped off is eye-covering material for me. Couldn't handle the beginning scenes of "Ghost Ship." Anyway, I can see why The Thing's a classic. Totally Cool. Up next, someone advised The Mouth of Madness for this evening's viewing pleasure. Possibly followed by The Devil's Backbone, if I have time. |
Happy Birthday To Me - 7/10
Return of the Living Dead - 8/10 Both fun movies. First Time viewing for Birthday and I loved it. Very fun little 80's slasher. Return is one of my favorite horror/comedies and will continue to be forever. |
Nightcrawler, see The Burning and My Bloody Valentine if you haven't already.
|
Bought a couple of movies today and so I watched Beyond Re-Animator. Alright but can't touch the original. Overall a 6/10. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

The Messengers The plot made no sense and was yawn-inducing most of the time, but there was a pretty intense scene and a lot of predictable boo scares you might fall in. What the fuck happened to the clever, scary boo scares from "The Eye"? They messed up here. 5/10. |
Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon - 8/10

I'm still giving it a shot. I may be the only person who didn't (truly) liked it... I mean, sure it has its moments but its not a masterpiece nor the goriest movie of the decade which has the power to transform the genre.
I like Eli Roth nth against him. |
Psycho 3 - 7/10
very surprised with it, very entertaining sequel that would have been an 8 had it not been for the annoying reporter |
Thinner (rewatch) 6/10
