Netflix customers -- what didja get this week?

Like quite a few schmoes, I'm a member of the wonderful organization that is Netflix, so I decided to open this thread for Netflix customers to discuss their latest rentals.

As for me, this week I'm set to receive:

BURNT OFFERINGS
HELL'S HIGHWAY
SCHIZOPOLIS

I was hoping to get CINEMANIA, but hopefully it'll be in next week.

vtadave 11-03-2003 04:00 PM

i use Walmart's DVD service (cheaper) and got:

Wishmaster 4
Wrong Turn

bigd23 11-10-2003 12:16 PM

The Real World Las Vegas: The Complete Season Disc 1 and 2

ZombieMonkey 11-10-2003 01:24 PM

On my "DVDs You Have Out" I have...

To Have and Have Not
The Meaning of Life: Special Edition
Farscape eps 19 & 20 (they put Solaris in the sleeve so I'm waiting for a replacement, yeesh)
Farscape eps 21 & 22
Legally Blonde: Red, White & Blonde (for my mom)

A.J. Hakari 11-10-2003 05:27 PM

BURNT OFFERINGS was scratched, so Netflix is sending a replacement disc. Otherwise, they're sending CINEMANIA and THE JUNKMAN.

bankholdup 11-10-2003 07:59 PM

Small Change is on its way...
...and then Beauty and the Beast (1946) and Foxy Brown are coming shortly.

urs74 11-11-2003 04:45 AM

Right now I have The Godfather and The Godfather II disc 1 and 2.

Damn since I rent this so often I should just break down and buy the damn set, but I hated The Godfather III

ZombieMonkey 11-16-2003 12:50 PM

New movies out are...

Terminator 3
The Work of Director Spike Jonze

A.J. Hakari 11-17-2003 04:24 PM

DEADLINE AUTO THEFT / GONE IN 60 SECONDS: 2
MY BIG FAT GREEK LIFE: THE COMPLETE SERIES

They haven't received CINEMANIA yet, so who knows what the third one will be...I'm hoping for ICHI THE KILLER or NAKED LUNCH, but my hopes on either of those are dimming. I hope to get GIGANTIC: A TALE OF TWO JOHNS at least.

Alas, no GIGANTIC either, but they are sending GERRY for the third.

Coolness. You wouldn't happen to be hoarding all copies of GIGANTIC: A TALE OF TWO JOHNS, now would ya? ;)

Oh, and beware of LEFT BEHIND...I liked the sequel a bit more, but #1 is one of the corniest religious films I've ever seen. I bet you're glad I told you now that they already sent it. :)

Coming in a couple days:

Lost In La Mancha (trying to see a few more 2003s before I finish the top ten list)
The Most Dangerous Game
Die Hard

ColinM 12-21-2003 07:17 PM

Santa Clause 2? Gigli? Red Zone Cuba? We've got some brave schmoes here... ;)

My three for the weekend...

Akira Kurosawa's Dreams
The Lady from Shanghai
Brazil

The only one I've had a chance to watch yet is Brazil (8.5/10), which I very much enjoyed and I think I'll enjoy it more when I don't have to watch it in parts, like I did this time. It wasn't quite as great as Terry Gillam's other film 12 Monkeys (9.5/10) but a very funny, unique, fascinating little movie.

Very nice line-up there. LOST IN LA MANCHA was an interesting documentary, and I thought THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME was a classic, classic adventure. Have fun!

Ah, and Colin...at least RED ZONE CUBA had just the episode and not Coleman Francis' complete epic. ;)

A.J. Hakari 12-23-2003 12:31 PM

ICHI THE KILLER
SON OF FRANKENSTEIN / THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN (saw the former, not the latter)
VERSUS

Wow, never expected to get ICHI or VERSUS, but there they are, being sent...Nothing like a double-dose of uber-violent Asian cinema to brighten up the holidays. :D

Enjoy Versus. It's easily the best martial arts/zombie/mafia/mythical warrior movie I've ever seen.

Lost In La Mancha was indeed a fascinating documentary. Some laughs, and plenty of 'Oh geez, that has to sucks's. 7.5/10

The Most Dangerous Game was enough to get an 8.5/10 from me. Excellent filmmaking.

bankholdup 12-23-2003 07:23 PM

Coming soon...

Owning Mahowny (2003)
Broken Blossoms (1918)
Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)

blankpage 12-23-2003 08:24 PM

I'm jealous of you American schmoes. I saw Netflix advertised on TBS today. I guess this thing is becoming HUGE. But, it looks like a fantastic service. I'd switch to Netflix instead of the video store in a heartbeat. I hope Canada gets something like this soon.
