Just because a movie doesn't make $100+ million at the box office doesn't mean it's a failure. Brad Pitt has never really made a bomb, and judging by his $17.5 million per movie paycheck, studios know he can draw in an audience. Believe it or not, Brad Pitt has a HUGE following and is a household name. When you add his name to a war epic directed by Wolfgang Petersen (whose last film The Perfect Storm surpassed expectations) and co-starring current "It" boy Orlando Bloom, you automatically will make a pretty penny.
