The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

Even though reading certain parts of this book was like reading travel brochures for ancient societies I still found it to be quite enjoyable. By combining likeable characters, a sense of mystery lacking in even most mystery novels nowadays, and more facts about Vlad Tepes than you can shake a stick at, Kostova has created a book that should find it's way into the library of anyone into vampiric literature.
