Foe (J.M. Coetzee, 1986)
It's a little spin-off of Robinson Crusoe which I read last week. It tells the story of a woman named Susan Barton who ends up stranded on Crusoe's island, she tells her story to Daniel Defoe, who of course ends up writing the novel about the Crusoe character, not focussing on her at all. The book has a similar narrative to Defoe's story and so is quite easy to read and pretty interesting, but it has a lot of 'dreamy metaphor' type things going on and didn't strike me as anything special.
That's 3 down, 7 to go before I start University...on Saturday
