A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (Stephen Hopkins, 1989)
Back with this 'ol franchise (post-Halloween I know, but I want to work my way through another 'marathon' and thought I'd better finish this first). I think this is the best of the sequels so far without a doubt. Maybe it's just that I've become accustomed to the stupid logic behind the dream world that was pissing me off with the others (still, how many people fall asleep when swimming!?!), maybe it's because I'm now content with the fact that Freddy is just an annoying pervy uncle rather than a genuinely frightening character like he was in the first film, maybe the ending made a slight bit of sense rather than none at all (a first for the franchise). It's a cheesy yet enjoyable horror flick, with yet another collection of imaginative kills to keep nerds like me entertained for 90 minutes.
