I think my main problem with the hard drive deal is that they are saying USB powered drives won't work and I really don't want to take up another 110 volt slot. The Wii U is touted as being energy efficient, but that gets thrown out the window when you have to plug in an extra drive and have it spinning. I was really looking forward to putting on a Western Digital Flex drive and just having it sit there quietly, not draining wattage without the machine running.
Yeah i thought that was strange as well, that you can't use SSD (Solid State Drives) and have to use a full spinning HD which i thought were on the way out these days but i guess not. I'd like to think its a problem with the tech not working right with the SSD's but i'd bet its more devious then that for some reason.
