- Matthew McConnaughey for Dallas Buyers Club. The physical transformation itself is already extraordinary. This role seems like it will be the apex of the new age of his career.
And of course, The Wolf of Wall Street is something that I'm sure will prove to live up to expectations if script reviews, the cast, and Scorsese's track record are enough to go by.
Can't wait for Foxcatcher.
The David O. Russell Abscam movie sounds like a solid bet for some awards.
Inside Llewyn Davis, Twelve Years a Slave, and The Monuments Men are others to look out for. Impossible to know who specifically will stand out in these, if any.
Also - Sandra Bullock in Gravity. Cuaron is brilliant and it's a basically a one-woman show. Not to mention I think I read somewhere that the first scene of the movie is basically a 30 minute long take or something? If this ends up being great no way she isn't nominated.
