The "Mortal Kombat" techno song is now twenty years old, FYI
MORTAL KOMBAT!
Fun fact: the guy who screams "Mortal Kombat" in the song is not from any of the games, but in fact he is actually from the TV commercial promoting the game's release for home systems on Mortal Monday. |

Actually there are two versions of that song. One was released before the film was made and was available to order as shown in the arcade cabinet and the other version which many have listened was made for the movie soundtrack. Strange there's no Angry Birds or Halo song.

Actually, there are more versions than that.
I have the original CD that was only available through mail order, and it has five different remixes that all essentially sound the same (Hypnotic House Mix, Techno-Syndrome Mix, etc.). A year later, there was "Mortal Kombat The Album" that included the techno song along with songs based on each fighter (Most notable for Sub Zero's song "Chinese Ninja Warrior" - if you've never heard it, you simply must do so right now.) Then when the movie soundtrack came out, the techno song was thrown on that album. And it wasn't until Mortal Kombat Annihilation came out that we finally got a new version of the techno song - an updated mix that used Shao Kahn's voice instead of Shang Tsung. Let's just say that back in the mid 90s, I was really into Mortal Kombat. |

Wow, I can't believe it's been 20 years. I was just a small child when the series was brand new.
I'm still a hardcore MK fan, and I'll never stop loving it! |
