What DVDs have you ordered throught the web lately?

I used to post these on Jon Lyrik's similiar titled thread but when RicochetShaw pointed out that since my buys were of movies that had been released for quite awhile, I decided to start up this threads for DVD that have been out for awhile in order to be more accurate. Too bad I have to start off this thread with a rather common and all-too-available DVD...

C'mon. YOu didn't tell us how much you paid, and I'd love to know.

The first HK film I've bought in some time. Heard a lot of good things. First film I'll have seen with Waise Lee as a good guy - he was a good sleazebag in A Better Tomorrow and Bullet in the Head. Cost $12 shipped from Hong Kong. After doing some more reading, I've compiled a list of about 9 HK action pictures I'm going to pick up. Just wish I lived near a China town, the prices there on DVDs (legit and bootlegs) is often lower than even online stores located in Hong Kong.

My first reponse on the jo-Blo forum Star Wars w/s, and Roller Boogie (Linda Blair).

I see you have 'just'the front covers of Criterions, I own in Criterion SALO, Hopscotch, A Night To Remember, Robocop etc. but in fully made covers I have about 115 made or scanned on 300 D.P.I. 6 color ink and a 48 bit scanner. I use Kodak Gloss 51Lb*190g/m*7 mil* 8.5 X 11 and have a printer where I don't have to use *legal* for it all to be on a 8.5 X 11.
Once I have made a cover I added that to the Covers burned on Memorex CD-R. I was a 2 year member of the now out of business DVD coverart.com I have 36 CD-R 700 MB 'full' of covers and inserts(many hires) for many DVD including Critertion. Highest cover I have 21.9 MB box sets of Star Trek and ST:TOS are all burned to disc as are all of the James Bond customs without the UPC code to muck up the artistry of the cover. Other than that I buy legal DVD just like you. cheers

Um, what? I bought the authenthic version of The Killer on ebay. I didn't make a bootleg and store it in my computer or on a disc or something. All my DVDs are authenthic and "normal".

Alot. So much in fact, that I'm too embarrassed to say it out here and be branded as insane.

I just got off ordering this one too:

These are in order going back for the past month.... I wanted the first three Alien movies and not the fourth, so there you go.

Orca was because it was shot twenty minutes from here and Luciano Vincenzoni and Sergio Donati, the writers, did most of Sergio Leone's westerns. Awful movie.

I also ordered/pre-ordered these and they should be here at the end of January:

Big month for me, I also bought a bunch at stores.

Apparently sombebody found a dozen copies in their basement or something as there's a flood load of them on eBay right now. It's shameful that I spent an extra 100$ on it.

Five weeks (and counting) and my stupid copy of Salo still hasn't showed up.

Are you aware Criterion is coming out with a better DVD presentation (a two-disc, if I'm not mistaken) in the near future? That's the only reason I didn't buy it.
