Carole Lombard
![]() Drop dead gorgeous and incredibly talented, she was quite possibly the greatest screen comedienne ever (and certainly my favorite). And quite a character too, from everything I’ve read - she was apparently just as spirited, zany and vibrant in real life as she was in her most famous movies. She was nominated for an Oscar only once, in 1936 for “My Man Godfrey”. I think she deserved at least a couple more – for “Nothing Sacred” and “To Be Or Not To Be”, and even a win for the latter. So, does she have any other fans here?? ![]() |

I can't say that she's one of my 10 favorite classic actresses, but she has that magic about her that lights up the screen, whatever role she may play. But she's also likable, sexy, incredibly adorable, and simply one of the funniest actresses that ever lived.
My Man Godfrey and To Have and Have Not, especially, are fantastic movies/performances from this talent. YAY! Last edited by Hannibal21; 01-15-2005 at 09:44 PM.. |

Han, I'm curious - are there ANY classic actresses you don't like? (if you've mentioned it in the past, I can't recall it)
