All the characters from Stephen King's The Stand, It, and Dreamcatcher. May they be good or evil they'll all realisticly written and you actually develop feelings for them, something that's a rarity in fiction, at least for me.

Damalii Richards from L.A. Bank's Vampire Huntress saga and Anita Blake from Laurell K. Hamilton's Vampire Hunter series. While on the surface these two characters might seem to be carbon copys of each other the differances between them are like night and day. The only thing they have in common is the fact that they slay the undead for the more adult readers of vampiric literature. Buffy, eat your heart out.
