What's the name?

I read a book a few years back and I can't think of what the name of it is or who wrote it.
The book is set in the future and is about a space merchant marine whose ship is destoryed and is the only survivor. He's running out of oxygen and just gives up. He sees a ship heading his direction and tries to flag it down for help, but the ship ignores his calls. This gives him a new purpose in life. He gets his act together and finds a way to get the ship up and running again so he can destroy the ship that left him for dead.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Never mind, I found it. It's called THE STARS MY DESTINATION and it's by Alfred Bester.
