Bought and Read:

Dune by Frank Herbert - Great novel I read from front to back pretty much as soon as I picked it up, the characters are wonderfully developed, the story is epic but well presented to keep it entertaining. The world it creates is so easy to imagine (especially since I was in the outback at the time!) and makes you imagine the harsh conditions even when you are not reading the book. Pure escapism.

Reefer Madness by Eric Shossler(bad spelling but close) - from the guy who wrote Fast Food Nation, a collection of articles focussing on weed, pornography and migrant workers, very interesting and motivating but doesn't really work on stoners! I'm shocked and appaled but too lazy....

Reading at the moment:

Neuromancer by William Gibson - so far brilliant, a must for anybody who likes sci-fi, the birth of the cyberpunk genre.

Bought but not read:

The Somnabulist - cant remember the author sorry! - looked interesting so picked it up, sort of a wacky sherlock holmes...

The life of Pi - I should read it but I don't like reading books which middle aged women like, makes me think of the mistake I made reading the lovely bones.

Plan to buy:

The man in the high castle by phillip K dick
Dune messiah by frank herbert

I usually pick up 4 - 5 books a week, however they're from Second-hand shops, and dont' usually get read for around 6 months (I've got a huge back catalogue of books to get through), however I did pick up the following on Tuesday, at full price (well, £13.99):-

I'm currently reading The Dark River, by John Twelve Hawks, but once I've finished that, I'll re-read Pattern Recognition, and then read Spook Country.

Brought the following yesterday - These days I very rarely buy books brand-new, at anything like the asking price - so far this year, the only other book that I paid "almost" full price (There was £2 off) was Spook Country by William Gibson, but I threw down the cash for the following, which I know is gonna be worth it :-

To tell you the truth, I was gonna wait on getting it for a while, due to Harry Potter coming out today - I was gonna save it for a Christmas Present to myself kinda thing, but I ended up buying it early - I'm glad I did, though in all honesty, on certain days the title totally sums it up

I'm 40 pages in (about a month of entries), and so far he's jerked off twice in a day, a few other times - all to his wife's pics. He fucked his wife time and time again, Mewes is always hanging out at his place, and he goes to sleep with SIMPSONS on TiVo every night.

I'm enjoying it, though. A few goodies here and there as well, but I won't ruin the good parts that are less common.

I just bought the memoirs of one Arthur Waley, who was a famous Sinologist and translator of Classical Chinese poetry.

He led a very, very fucked up life.

John Lé Carre - The Constant Gardener

God will die before I actually read this book from start to finish (having the entire "Wheel of Time", "Sword of Truth" series plus "Imajica" ahead of me), but I'll be reading bits and pieces of it from here until the apocalypse.

Clive Barker - Imajica

Sure to become my favorite book. I actually just ordered it, so I won't have it for another two weeks.
