That is one thing that is wrong with America. We demonize sex and glorify war. Why does someone killing someone else like in Batman get a PG13, but yet sex between two people in love and there happens to be a bare boob, gets an R rating?

I like how the Europeans think. Give me less people shooting and killing other people and more nude beaches. When I was in Thailand in Feb, we went to a few beaches and there were tons of European girls topless on the beach. I enjoyed the views, but if someone was stabbed and dead on the street, it wouldn't phase me to give more than a glance.

Hounddog- Rated R for a disturbing sexual assault of a young girl, and brief sexuality.

Hotel for Dogs- Rated PG for brief mild thematic elements, language and some crude humor.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button- Rated PG-13 for brief war violence, sexual content, language and smoking.

Great to see that Role Models is rated R. The trailer was kind of funny, but looked very PG-13. I have much more faith in it now.

The Spirit- Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of stylized violence and action, some sexual content and brief nudity.

Notorious- Rated R for pervasive language, some strong sexuality including dialogue, nudity, and for drug content.

Ok... WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WITH THE SPIRIT?!? I thought it was a definite R. My confidence is totally lost in it. Neither trailer was good at all, and on top of that now we know that it won't be bloody, and there won't be any nudity. WHAT THE FUCK.

While it's a tad disappointing that it's not rated R, I disagree that the trailers looked bad.

To me visually it looks like one of the most unique and interesting and potentially awesome movies ever. I'm quite excited. I mean it does kind of have a cheesy feel to it, but I nonetheless think it looks awesome and it's definitely very high on my list of movies I'm looking forward to for the rest of the year.

It kind of reminds me of a combination of Sin City and The Shadow among a few others. I'm excited.

I'm so pumped for Benjamin Button. I think the film will be huge, now that it has a PG-13 rating. I thought the R could be a problem, but that's a moot point now.

December can't come soon enough...

Definitely agreed. The only other movies I'm as excited about are Bazz Lurhman's romantic epic Australia (I love epics), Revolutionary Road (Sam Mendes + Leo + Kate = how can this not be great?!), Defiance (Zwick is one of my favorite filmmakers and this looks like it could be up there with Glory as his best film) and possibly Oliver Stone's W.

Those are definitely the movies I'm most excited about for the rest of 2008.

The Road is at the very top of my list, and for some reason I think it will do quite well at the box-office, although I expect it will get an R rating which may hurt it a bit. Hopefully it gets a wide release so everyone can see it.

I also expect Benjamin Button will do very well at the box-office. The premise is so intriguing and the PG-13 rating will help it. And I don't think the PG-13 is a bad thing at all. The only thing that would have given it an R are the war scenes, and they are very brief.

does "Graphic Nudity" for How to Lose Friends & Alienate People include Megan Fox getting naked?! Cuz that would be awesome

wasn't expecting it to be R... but that sounds good to me. I was more than likely gonna see it regardless... Simon Pegg, Jeff Bridges & Megan Fox!

I didn't think it was going to be great in the first place. The teaser was good. Didn't like the trailer, only heard bad thins about it at Comic con. So, I thought, I usually disagree with people. But now with PG 13, it's going to just appeal to the '300' crowd. It's going to be a watered down, bad movie. The rating doesn't do it all, but it certainly put a dent in it.

About W. I thought for sure it was going to be R as well. I don't think it'll affect the movie too much, though. I don't think it was cut down, considering this doesn't exactly appeal to the teen crowd as far as I know. I still think it looks great. Im in the minority.

Yeah that's rather disappointing for both Valkyrie and W.

And not that I ever had any hope of An American Carol being any good (because I most definitely didn't) but it's PG-13 is the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

Max Payne- Rated PG-13 for violence including intense shooting sequences, drug content, some sexuality and brief strong language.

Punisher: War Zone- Rated R for pervasive strong brutal violence, language and some drug use.

Management- Rated R for language.

Traveling- Rated PG-13 some language including sexual references.

Disappointed about Max Payne, although it really doesn't matter considering it was meant to be shot for PG-13 all along. The video game features such a dark and violent story, that I just can't see it being PG-13 without it being watered down to a forced and negative degree. Hopefully it proves me wrong and ends up being like Live Free or Die Hard when everyone was pissed about the PG-13, and the movie ended up being awesome anyway.

Nice hard R rating for Punisher.

An R rating for Punisher: War Zone doesn't change the fact that the movie looks like shit.

And a PG-13 rating doesn't change the fact that Max Payne looks like a really cool, stylish movie.

I agree with you about Max Payne, but you have to admit that it is one very very very dark story, its hard to imagine it being any shade lighter than it was.
