I'm hoping this leaks onto the net soon, like a screener of some sort. I would love to see this in theaters, but would have to drive for at least 4 hours to see it.

Tim Noonan was basically the only good thing from 'Robocop 2'

I totally agree. I saw the trailer last night, and it looks all kinds of awesome. Hopefully, it'll play somewhere close by to my area, because I'd love to spend part of my Halloween weekend watching The House of the Devil.

This looks great and Tom Noonan is a scary guy. He gave me the creeps in Manhunter. Another blast from the past in the movie is Mary Woronov from Eating Raoul, and Death Race 2000 among many other movies.

Saw this at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. The performances are good, especially Tom Noonan's. His character gives off a calm, yet menacing vibe and it really adds to the scenes between him and Samantha. The film does a great job of emulating an 80s look and making you anxious to find out what's going to happen as Samantha roams (and dances) around the dark, creepy house. There's a slow pace to this so it might test the patience of some viewers. The biggest problem with this, unforunately, is that everything builds up to a final confrontation/ending that's a bit of a letdown.

7/10

Glad to see it getting some anticipation/liking...still so pumped for this, but sadly its only likely hitting NY,LA & TX if I read correctly...heres hoping the PSA/numbers roll in solid so it expands. This is one of the few movies of recent times where I feel the urge to see this on the big screen...

Just watched it on demand and I enjoyed it for the most part. I really dug West's direction, and the overall look of the film was great, very 70s/80s. The performances were good, I quite liked Jocelin Donahue. She's got this charm to her, I don't really know how to explain it. The film is a bit of a slow burn, but it didn't bother me. I felt that the ending was a bit abrupt, I wish they did a little more with it. Overall, it was a good way to spend an hour and a half. I recommmend it. 7/10

Horror movies should be more like this. People keep warning about the slow pace but it's only because there's a lack of any action until the last 20 or so minutes. I didn't think the movie was slow paced since the first hour is filled with an uneasy and dreadful atmosphere that never lets up. The best horror movie I've seen since [REC] and the best American horror movie in a long, long time.

Thankfully the movie did solid numbers on its 3 screens this past weekend...i'm hoping it gets some expansion due to that.

Did anybody see this in theaters? i'm curious to hear about how packed it was or reactions etc.,

You can get it on Amazon for $10 if you want to see it right away. I think HDNet was showing the movie too along with Comcast on Demand and Xbox 360.

If you can't find a theatrical showing, I highly recommend doing this. It's how I saw it and it was well worth it.

This movie, wow. This movie is fucking GOOD. Forget Paranormal Activity, this is the real deal here. This movie is terrifying. Get this movie and watch it with a bunch of friends.

I saw this tonight. I enjoyed it. I thought it was good. I liked the slow burn. It was easy to figure out what the angle was. I got a Polanski vibe from it so it was funny to see the ending go down that way. The only problem was that I didn't find it creepy or really suspenseful. My girlfriend found it claustrophobic but it didn't do the trick for me. It was interesting though and better than Paranormal Activity.
