Amanda Bynes will retire from acting
Amanda Bynes tweeted surprising career news on Saturday.
"Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem," she wrote. "If I don't love something anymore I stop doing it." "I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she continued. "I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first, I've retired." As a teenager Bynes starred on her Nickelodeon variety series "The Amanda Show" and on the dramedy series "What I Like About You." Hahaha. You mean she wasn't already retired?
 Maybe if she hadn't done so many crappy movies, she wouldn't feel this way. It's kind of a shame though. As much as I dislike some of her movies she DOES have talent. If she picked better movies, she could have a great career.

Who is going to make mediocre teen films now? No but in all seriousness when she runs out of money, she'll do an indie, go for another sitcom, or start a reality show for the five people still curious about what she's doing with her life. It's not a loss, she's always been very mediocre. Her show on Nick was mediocre, her sitcom on the WB was very mediocre, her movies, her music, her comedy, even her supporting performance on "Hairspray." Mediocre. So it's no loss. Bye Amanda.

I also agree. She's got talent which is not so easy to find among today's young hollywood crowd. Plus the fact that she's not out clubbing every night and flashing her vag......wait....bad example. But regardless, her talent is refreshing.

Okay, she definitely has a better career than Bynes, but I would still call Hathaway's career a very mixed bag. I mean, I know it sounds like I'm being harsh on her but that is only because she has real talent. She was AMAZING in Rachel Getting Married and should have won the oscar IMO. But her career is still just so-so. I hope Hathaway's career begins to do great though. Like I said, she can amazing when she wants to be.

No big deal she just needs a break. I would recommend a horror movie when she returns, drop the whole squeaky clean image.
It does show you how fickle a teen fanbase can be, once another perky face comes along, they forget all about you. She can always do a series on youtube for fun and to prevent from getting stale. There would be no pressure to live up to any expectations and she can further develop her improv skills. I agree though, if i made millions before i hit 20, i would find it difficult to get motivated. I would be drinking beer everyday and hanging out at the beach

I was an Extra on the one movie they never ever mention when talking about movies Amanda Bynes did... Sydney White!
Although I never spoke with her, she seemed to be a really nice person. One day in between light set ups, she was walking back to her trailer and a few of the extras were sitting on some steps (we were filming at a college) and a few of the girls asked Bynes to take some photos with them, and she was very courteous and cheerful. Didn't seem like she was some sort of diva or anything, that plague many young actresses (Dakota Fanning, im looking at you, same with Kristen Stewart, although she is just fucking weird). Plus she is insanely hot... she was in my top 10 hotty list! So that is a shame! Im sure in a few years she will come back to it... this is an Eminem/ Jordan style retirement I would bet!

I'm betting in a few years one or more of the following happens:
A. She'll wind up starring in those shitty Lifetime network movies. B. She will do a few of the 30 minute long "infomercials" for Time Life music, a bad fashion trend of some sort, etc. C. She'll co-star in some horrid Disney flick and sign with the company to be on the network in even worse sitcoms.

I'm telling you, she has to do a horror film to get out of her rut, and not some pg 13 studio creation, something hard core, damn with a body like that too bad she wasn't cast in Piranha 3d, that chick is hot as hell.
I doubt she's serious, everyone needs some rest from the madness but she is somewhat competing with a bunch of other pretty faces, so she should do a Depp and not rely on her looks but challenge herself, when she's ready to come back to acting that is

More like she isn't being offered anything good and she has enough money to take a break and produce some much needed publicity. Plus, she has been around for a long time now. I think she is hot with some talent. I hope she does not quit and get a decent role. Perhaps she would be good in porn?
