Charity to Somalia and Sierra Leone etc

Have you been duped into donating?

Money isn't going where its meant to.

The strategy seems ineffective, too. Some individuals have been helped, and that's great, but the issue of poverty continues.

Resources/supply are limited, including money; therefore, wouldn't it be logical to conclude that we must create an infrastructure whereby population size can be controlled, i.e demand can be controlled, and aligned with the supply of food.

Think of other problems we're faced with, over-consumption, excessive polluting, destroying the natural landscape or deforestation to accommodate the expanding man-made environment etc. Over-population is at the center. Surely a priority for the global community is to invest this limited money to create more abortion clinics and invest in clinics to administer surgicial sterilisation.

Some people might talk about rights, the right to have as many children as desired, but what is a right? its simply a legal boundary, a subjective view enforced by a police system and upheld by a judicial system. A right can change as ideas and laws change. We shouldn't have the right to unlimited offspring.

Too many people on Earth. And for what? what's the plan? what's our motive?

We could end our species. That idea brings me joy.

I wouldn't say I've been duped into it though..

better to help some than none at all.

Your heart's in the right place.

For animal charities, especially dogs, you can donate dog specific items, beds, toys etc so you know nobody's getting their filthy hands on charity money. It can work.

Third World charities are different. Money and food often get "lost" on the way to intended destination. Its a waste of money.

I agree.

and while we do give money to certain organizations, I LOVE (and get more fulfillment) out of hands on donations!
being able to choose specific products to give, makes it feel like more of a personal gift.
