Agreed wholeheartedly.

Guess Snyder is following Nolan's (and by extension Donner's) example in amassing a talented cast for his movie. Hopefully, Nolan will be able to offer more guidance to Snyder, because he certainly needs it!

Me too. I have to say, though, that it will be very odd to see Meloni on the big screen after being so used to him as Elliot Stabler. At least now, he'll be in something his kids can actually watch (and hopefully not feel embarrassed at the same time).

Yeah, he looks good in the previous uniform. Will they use it again, though, or will it be different?

will be different since most fans hated the suit for it's muted colors and 3d shield lol

Then those people are fucking idiots. Muted colours? do people expect a vibrant cherry red to work with a nice sky blue, they may have got away with it in the 70's, but that shit just wont fly. And as for the shield being raised from the suit, so what? I'd rather that, than it being part of the design like a shitty t-shirt.

I thought the suit looked great in Superman Returns...but I expect big changes from both designs to differentiate from previous films...

I've come to the conclusion that at this rate, WB will end up spending just as much money, if not more, than they did on Superman Returns, essentially negating the very reason they didn't have Singer come back for the sequel.

I mean, if they're willing to drop $200 million on Green Lantern...

No Superman in 2012. Not until June 14, 2013.

http://www.deadline.com/2011/07/supe...in-until-2013/

Good move overall. Better to fine tune the script and get stuff ready without a rush. I also hope this allows Chris Nolan to be more hands-on with the project if anything else.

Definitely a smart move on their part(considering how many huge projects are coming out in 2012). And I agree with ya drc, hopefully this gives them more time to get Nolan a little more involved in the creative process.

YES!! having the film come out too soon would have made it rushed and crappy. Now Nolan can really make sure that he oversees the project even more and makes sure it is good.

ptience is needed nowadays to make a really good movie.

I suspect the next big movie to be pushed back to 2013 will be the sequel to JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot.

That doesn't really have a concrete release date... or a finished script. So who knows when the hell it will actually happen.

Exactly why I think the movie is going to be pushed back to 2013. They don't have an exact date except late 2012. But with no news on the movie in quite some time, it wouldn't surprise me that the next news we hear is the movie being pushed back to summer 2013.

I think it looks fine.

- Not crazy about the scales (like The Amazing Spiderman) but it is better than mini S bumps that Superman Returns had.

- I like Henry's hair in the previous paparazzi photos, it would have been cool if he actually had that swirl while wearing the superman outfit... as opposed to a Wall Street look.

- No red underwear (or outerwear).

- the cape looks excellent. i have a feeling a lot of it will be CGI.

- more muscular than i would have imagined. good for him.

- He looks like a man as opposed to a kid, that's good. Hopefully he can act.

- It is still Snyder, so I literally have no expectations either way.

Well the suit looks more like Aquaman's than Superman's and from the neck up he just doesn't look the part.

Yeah, I'm not too keen on it.

I wonder what that thing is on the side of his leg.

While the look is definitely different, Cavill is for sure fucking ripped. He doesn't look that way in the comic con pics, like, at all.

I'm not too sure if I'm digging how dark the suit is, either. It's as if they modeled this suit (and added scales....WTF?!) after the bad Superman from Superman 3, when he's all drunk and dirty and shit.

Oh, and fuck Snyder.

I can't wait to see what a CGI overload this thing will be.

Although, I hope Nolan kicks Snyder square in the balls when any bullfuck happens with this movie.

THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!

It was killing me since I saw it. First I thought Lizard, then thought it was a bit Captain America-y. But yeah, that looks like Supes stole Aquaman's gear while his stuff was at the cleaners.

Might be this is way darker version, we have ever imagined. Coz when u look at him he seems more of a villain than a friendly neighborhood super hero.

I agree with you and I thought Routh's suit was a good mix of new and old. That thing just looks...overdone. It's excessive and distracting.

Modern look but doesn't scream "look how different I am" at you.

And I realize this movie is not supposed to be in line with Donner and Singer's but this guy just does not look like Superman to me. Hopefully they take some of that grease out of his hair.

I will say this, maybe it's just the lighting that really brings out all the details and it won't be that obnoxious on screen because overall I like the structure of the suit, just not all the giant bubbles all over it.

But they've got to do something with that hair, he looks more like Superman in those Comic-Con pics than he does with the guido thing going on.

Great pose, expression and outfit. Conveys a more compelling character than previous costumes and actors. I don't read superhero comics, so I'm the audience they need to pull in. Superman fans will check it out anyways.
