Pepe le Moko with Jean Gabin - I actually prefer Charles Boyer as the title character in the English remake but this is a pretty solid job as well. Gabin might be a bit more menacing in the role of a notorious criminal living in the Casbah section of Algiers. It's a pretty good story of a criminal who finally finds something worth risking everything for. 7/10
The Monster with Lon Chaney - Chaney plays a crazy doctor looking to reanimate the dead. It's actually not as exciting as it sounds. Most of the film I found to be pretty dull until the end when the hero tries to capture Chaney and his crew - there were some pretty clever ways of doing so. 5/10 |

I just re-watched Tank Girl not too long ago and Watts was easily the best thing about the movie which was really a terrible movie.

![]() Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace Blu-Ray First time I watched it since the cinema; I realize reviewing this film online is cliche at this point, so I'll just say, again the transfer is okay, not great, and the actress playing Shmi Skywalker reminds me of Tommy Wiseau's performance in The Room, which is odd, though everyone in TPM is wooden. It isn't as bad as the likes of Transformers Dark of the Moon, though it's not far off. |

The Leopard with Burt Lancaster - The story of life for Sicilians during the 19th century when Italy was being unified. I didn't like the dubbing they did for Lancaster but otherwise he did a very good job. Claudia Cardinale looked beautiful as always and she was fun as the young temptress engaged to a former rebel-turned-military officer. It was a very in depth look at society (especially upper class life) during this tumultuous time. 8/10
Friends With Benefits - Woody Harrelson was hilarious in his supporting role. He's come a long way since he played a dimwit on Cheers. The main story was kind of cliche and still trying to make fun of romcom cliches which didn't quite work but the actors did the most they could. Also Mila Kunis looked absolutely incredible. 6/10 |

Young People Fucking (2007)
![]() Well who said canadian cinema is dead ? ( yeah that was me , my bad ). Despite the title that sounds like an amateur porn tape , the movie is actually a very decent comedy about sex. It's the story of 5 couples ( the friends , the exes , the 1st date , the roomates , the couple ) having a sexual relationship on a tuesday night but unlike most sex comedy of late , this one keeps it more mature and dialogue oriented. Is it funny ? Fuck yeah! Is there any fart joke or scenes about losing one's virginity to an apple pie ? Fuck no! The acting is really good but the strenght of the movie relies on the dialogue and there's a lot of it. Sure , we get to see some boobs and some dude asses ( yes i wish i had Callum Blue ass btw , no homo ) . The pacing is also really good since they divided the movie into 6 parts : Prelude , Foreplay , Sex , Interlude , Orgasm & Afterglow. Not saying this movie is for everyone's liking but i liked it a lot. Favorite scene : the dirty talk ..... can't say more ... really! 8.5/10 |

The Debt - *** 1/2
One of the year's best! Good, god Jessica Chastain is drop dead gorgeous! She's also a phenomenal actress. She's 3 for 3 this year in giving 3 incredible performances in 3 of the best movies of the year. No joke all 3 of her movies are in my top 5 of the year and I just redid my 2011 awards and she won BOTH best lead actress (for this movie) AND for best supporting actress (for The Help). Needless to say, she's well on her way on becoming a favorite of mine. Re-watch: The Bank Job - *** 1/2 Love this movie. Probably my favorite heist movie, or close to it. Of course, it's really what comes AFTER the heist during the second half of the movie, that makes it as awesome as it is. Last edited by ilovemovies; 09-14-2011 at 04:07 AM.. |

Glengarry Glen Ross (James Foley, 1992) A+
What a fantastic movie. The ensemble cast is great, featuring Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, and Alec Baldwin. The script is smart but accessible, and you really get the sense of desperation Lemmon's character is going through. Megamind (Tom McGrath, 2010) A- I wasn't expecting this movie to be as entertaining as it was. It's very funny and makes a lot of cool references to the Superman lore (no turning back time, unfortunately). It's also not as predictable as I, well, predicted. I expected certain deus ex machinas to occur and they didn't. The voice cast is great, featuring Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, David Cross, and Brad Pitt, as well as Ben Stiller and J.K. Simmons in smaller roles. There's also enough cool action to balance out the comedy, although this film is mainly a comedy. |

Dames - A pretty fun Busby Berkeley musical with a couple of really good numbers. The story itself is pretty standard but the performances and spectacle of the musical makes up for it. 7/10
Showboat (1951) - I prefer the original but this was a pretty good adaptation as well. Howard Keel and Ava Gardner were outstanding and the film looked beautiful with the costumes and bright colors but everything else was better in the 36 version (especially Paul Robeson singing Old Man River). I still liked it partly because I'm a fan of Gardner and partly because it tried to distance itself from the previous version. 7/10 |

I think you just have to look at it as a film that was clearly aimed at a very young audience. A strange decision on Lucas part, but still.

I know and when I watched it yesterday I enjoyed it a lot more than I remember but those charcaters bug the hell out of me, I guess because of how kiddy they are, but your right it was aimed at a VERY young audience and should be watched as such.
