Honestly, I don't know how the show is going to make it past season four. Kurt Sutter has a contract with FX to keep the show going at least up to the seventh season. I believe the letters that we're introduced at the end of last season won't become an issue until towards the end of this upcoming one.

If the season does start off this way and the show is suppose to last four more seasons, we're going to have a lot of it slowly drawn out, which won't be a good thing. I was hoping the final battle between Jax, Clay and Gemma wouldn't appear until the final season.

We assume that John was being honest in those letters, we don't know the exact truth of what happened in the past. Yes, it's quite obvious that Clay and Gemma killed John, but he may not have been the sweetheart and innocent man that he has painted himself to be in these letters. We'll learn the full truth, but I don't think we will have too much of a problem with those letters this season. Tara will either keep it to hereself for the time being (Likely) or confront Gemma about it, and threaten to tell Jax (Out of character)

Either way, It could be helpless. Jax has spent a year in Jail, thinking and thinking about why he's there. The reason he is there is for helping his brothers get justice for themselves. I don't know if he'll regret getting Stahl and Jimmy killed, just because his daddy's book says it's naughty. But, who knows. I could be totally wrong.

Thinking from a loosly-based perspective of the show's take on HAMLET, my assumption has ALWAYS been - before I even noticed the similarities to said story - that they killed him because they wanted their own version of SAMCRO and he didn't agree... and they wanted to snuff John because of their desire to be together AND take over to establish their version of SAMCRO.

That's probably right. I was really trying to make a point of there being enough material for another three seasons. Sutter will have a plan, he isn't an idiot so I doubt he would have signed a contract for it to run that long without an outline for the series.

Well hopefully you're on the right path, but it better not be a rehash of the first two seasons when Jax and Clay are at each other's throats again, ready to kill each other but then something happens to the club to bring them together again and then the fued is brought to a finish in the final season. That would be poor writing
on Sutter's part. So far, the show hasn't gone down that road.

You gotta remember the end of season 3 where they have that closeup shot of Jax in the end and he's smiling about what he'd done. He clearly made up his mind to have Stahl and the Mick asshole killed and was fine with it. Because he made up his mind to be faithful and protect his family by any means, meaning the ones who have always stood by him (Gemma, Clay, etc) not the ghost of a dead man who seriously considered abandoning his family. I have a feeling, Jax is gonna get a little too comfy with killing people this season, which will most likely cause a wedge between him and Tara.

Speaking of which, I believe the person most likely to be left marinating in doubt for 14 months is Tara. Gemma taught Tara that a mother will do anything to protect her child and if that means keeping them away from people who are ready willing and able to murder their own, then so be it. That's where the serious drama is gonna be. Tara's not gonna confront Gemma outright, not at first, but she is gonna do some snooping and asking some questions until her intentions are so obvious someone, either Jax or Gemma is gonna call her on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Tara's life is threatened this season by someone in the club.

Also, judging by the promos on TV, there are gonna be a lot of flashbacks this season.

Also, is it only me that is annoyed to hear that 'I'm done with Samcro' line coming from Jax in the the trailer? I hope he was just lying to Tara, cause I'd hate if the writers have dropped his whole mentality as it was at the end of the last season. I don't want another retread for fuck sake.

Really enjoyed the first episode, but wasn't it meant to run for 90 minutes? It was only an hour long...

I think they are setting up some good things this year, the new Sheriff seems to be an actual threat to Samcro which is a nice change after two seasons where Hale was about as much of a threat as a plush toy. I was a little annoyed with the talk that Jax had with Tara, but I think the end of the episode definitely gives us the impression that he lied to her. I think he is deeper in with the Sons than he has ever been, and that knife kill at the end cemented that though for me, he could have just shot the guy but he decided to make it personal. It shows that he still really cares, well in my opinion it does anyways.

A 60 min commercial free view would translate to 90 minutes on television. I might put my foot in my mouth because I don't have a clue if FX has commercials, but I think they do. I think they do. Most sons episodes probably clock out at around 40-some minutes commercial free.

They do have commercials. Also, the season premiere broke records last night. The first episode brought in just under 5 million viewers, but with the two encores airing right after...came up with a total of 7.25 million.

Damn! And they haven't even totaled the DVR viewings yet either.

Totally watch it 'illegally' in NZ, too, hate waiting, plus I'll buy the blu-ray when I can.

Not too sure that he was lying to Tara, yet. Pretty sure the stabbing was just revenge for what the Russians did do him in prison, his wounds were stab wounds so he'd deliver the same. But yeah he is in too deep with Sons and will never leave.

Or maybe you're right and its getting a little Godfather on us with the relationship between Kay and Michael in the first part.

Great episode tonight I thought.

It seems to have solidified what Jax told Tara about leaving SAMCRO but I can see him getting in deeper before he ever gets out.

Machete's the man I hope he sticks around for a bit of this season.

Weird to see Benito Martinez show up. We are now up to three 'Shield' vets joining the cast in some capacity.

I wonder if Chiklis and Goggins will appear before the show ends its run.

Another solid episode last night. Although the preview for next week seemed to show us a lot of stuff we've seen already.

Actually that makes four Shield vets overall. Also, I don't think that Goggins will appear on two shows on the same network (Justified and SOA) but maybe I will be wrong. Who wants to bet one of the new FBI or ATF agents coming to charming will be CCH Pounder.

You have to remember Dutch did several episodes in the first season and The Shield was also in its final season at the same time. I think it would be fucking amazing if Vic Mackey came on as an ATF agent going after the Sons. That would seriously be the most epic wet dream.

I'm late getting in on this episode, but I really enjoyed it. I guess I was wrong in my theory about Jax lying to Tara, but I do agree that he'll probably get in deeper than he ever has been. Possibly to the point where it's impossible to get out. Add to that, the fact this show is planned to run 7 season I believe, and it kinda hints that Jax will be stuck to the club for alot longer than he had planned.

I don't think so. I mean, what about Happy? He is also black. Both of them are obviously not caucasion so I don't understand the problem.

My main problem is how quickly Juice was ready to work with the new Sheriff.

Hmm I didn't really interpret it to be Juice DEFINITELY working with the Sheriff. There was no real indication that Juice would play along, sure he was thinking about whether the Club would care if he was black, and he asked what now? But that's about all (that I can think of.) Just sounds like the cop is going to be a thorn up his ass and MAYBE Juice will start working with him.

Clay needs Opie so I don't think Piney will get offed unless it's natural causes. Tara isn't going anywhere.

So it's down to Bobby or Juice if anybody.

I can see Bobby getting killed but not by anyone in the club. Probably the cartel or something with Clay blaming himself in the end.

I would hate to see Juice go but next weeks preview set him up for the rest of the season so we'll see.

You are forgetting Clay is very sketchy when it comes to killing a member of their club and no one else knowing about it. Remember in the first season when he was going to have Tig kill Opie?

They were the only two who knew about it.

Also, Clay, Gemma and Unser dealing with John Teller's death as well. Piney could for sure be killed off this season.

And the same goes for Bobby and Juice.
