There is no denying that this is a classic, and it is clear why that is so, but I cannot give this a perfect rating whole-heartedly until I reread it; some portions were difficult to digest on my first read through and I would like to invest in it again maybe a year from now with the foreknowledge and perspective which I now have. It was a great novel, nonetheless with some astonishing prose on Dicken's part. 3.5/4

PS: In all fairness I finished this last Monday.

I haven't been this entertained by comedy books since The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.

3/4

2.5/4

Both were very light reading done for a college book festival which the author (and others) will be present at. Clearly judging by the scores I enjoyed Speak over Twisted by a lot, but they were both easy, enjoyable novels. Don't expect "Call of Cthulhu" walking into this, but if you want something light to spend a few hours on, I can recommend Speak which Halse's "trendy" prose is a perfect match for. Throughout portions of Twisted, her shtick does become a detractor rather than a contribution to the story, but once again: both are pretty decent for what they are.

I really appreciated this one. Shakespeare was certainly one of the greatest wordsmith's yet known to man.

DC's New 52 relaunch of the Batman title, issues #1 and #2. I've never read Batman in the comics in my life, and I'm really enjoying it so far.

Supergirl #3 from this past week. Getting interesting with introducing a new villian who's supposedly a "Trillionaire". Kara learning more about what happened to Krypton and being exposed to Kryptonite on earth for the first time was interesting to see too. I'm totally engaged in this title, and am along for the ride.

Just finished Batman #3 the other day. Still loving this storyline, very well written. Plus the art's pretty damned good too. Totally enraptured by all of it. Glad I picked it up.
