seth rogan is one lucky talentless stoner
He clearly just lucked out by being in freaks and geeks and knocked up, he's so dull and uninspiring and he and Jonah Hill should be shot.

I'm withholding judgment on Jonah Hill until I see him try to be funny as a skinny dude...

C'mon, he's our generation's Dan Aykroyd! He helped redefine comedy. You're just jealous of his jowly mouth and success. Green Hornet was the best ilm of 2011. Fact.

i missed that one, i'm sure it can't have been better than the green lantern, which was one of the worst films i have ever had the misfortune to see. I just hate his smug face knowing that just cause he once shared a shower with James Franco, he can now command top dollar.

I liked him once. Now I feel indifferent. I hate Jonah Hill, though.

Superplasmatron, not only are you spot on with your rant(Seth Rogen is a one trick pony and can only play stoner characters) but you also have the best avatar on here sir. Jesse Pinkman rules haha.

I don't disagree with either sentiment. I liked Super Bad when it came out... But upon repeat viewings, it's lost it's charm. Rogan isn't that fucking talented whatsoever. Nor is Jonah Hill. So yeah, good rant.

I support this rant. I do find both Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen to be good as supporting characters, but they are one trick ponies who have long ago worn out their charm. Some examples of Rogen in which I found him more tolerable were Zac and Miri Make a Porno, The 40 Year Old Virgin, and 50/50. I really hate Superbad and Pineapple Express, so anything with Rogen's writing credit usually gets the dismissal for me; I have yet to finish Funny People (I like the premise, but the comedy is so stale).

I really can't stand Rogan in anything. The Green Hornet would of been a great movie with just about anyone but Rogan in it! The only talent he has is doing voices. Like in Paul, Kung Fu Panda & Monsters vs Aliens. Maybe he just needs a stand in to do the acting and he can do the voice overs!

I do agree with ya in regards to Hill. He's warmed up to me especially after seeing Cyrus and Moneyball. He's got some talent for sure. However he has starred in his fair share of duds (The Sitter most recently comes to mind. God damn that was awful and 21 Jumpstreet doesn't look much better) Last edited by echo_bravo; 01-06-2012 at 05:13 AM.. |

Agreed. I actually think Franco would of been perfect as the Green Hornet (instead he was used as a cameo which was funny though)

Rogan was the best thing about 50/50 IMO. Yep, I liked him even more than JGL. Don't get me wrong, he was good too, but Rogan to me gave the movie's best performance playing his best friend who uses humor to cover up just scared he really is. It's an affecting performance.

I really don't get the hate for Seth Rogen. I think he's hilarious in stuff like Knocked Up, Zack and Miri, etc. Would I compare him to George Carlin as far as strict comedy goes? Fuck no, but I'd be a lying motherfucker if I said he didn't make me laugh.

I love Seth Rogen. That is all. Dismissing him as a guy who can only play a stoner is unfair imo. Sure, he smokes pot in most of his movie but his performances are varied. He plays the lovable schlub role well with Knocked Up, and Zack and Miri, the idiotic role well with Superbad, and the more normal, kind hearted guy role well with Funny People (the only good thing about that movie was Rogen imo) and 50/50.
He's the most consistant comedic actor of the day at the moment, imo. |

Seth Rogen definitely is a one-trick pony, but I find that sometimes he can be entertaining (Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, Observe and Report, Superbad) and sometimes I hate him (Zack and Miri Make a Porno, The Green Hornet).
I also enjoy his voice work in Kung Fu Panda, Horton Hears a Who!, and especially Monsters vs. Aliens. |

I don't know if you are joking or not, but he actually really was awesome as the title alien character in Paul, which is still one of my favorite movies of 2011.
Green Hornet a side, 2011 was actually a pretty good year for him with Paul and 50/50. |

I am a Seth Rogen fan, i can say the only movie that he has been in that i did not like was The Green Hornet, it should not have been a comedy, it should have been a dark super hero action flick. Anyway, i dont really know how i feel about Jonah Hill, sometimes he is funny, other times he is overly annoying.

At least he stopped doing a ton of projects. He was burning out on his one character. Jew Stoner with no direction in life. Seriously, Seth represents a lot of people in this generation. He is not super talented, but he does have talent. Let's see how he grows and matures.

Translated: Seth Rogen makes more money than I do and that makes me bitter!
Who cares if he commands top dollar? There's clearly an audience for the guy so good for him if his career is doing well. Everybody who becomes successful in Hollywood can be considered lucky. Anybody who has a job and doesn't have to steal to survive can be considered lucky. This rant is very typical and can be replaced with any number of people who have appeared in movies at one time or another. Wanting to punch somebody in the face whom you've never met is strange, considering Seth Rogen hasn't really done anything to hurt anybody. |

Rogen is just really likeable, he's that guy who is liked by almost everybody. Doesn't make him talented or means he makes good movies all the time, but he does have fans and has had a few good ones.
