![]() An official start date has yet to be set, but Breaking Bad is slated to return this summer. Vince Gilligan and co. have been in the writing room fleshing out, what is said to be the final season of the series, for the past 3 months. The season shall consist of 16 episodes and it still unclear on whether or not they may be splitting the season in half a la season 6 of The Sopranos. Time will tell... Also, here's a small casting rumor coming from reddit. Take with the usual grain of salt (Warning: Very minimal potential spoiler): http://www.reddit.com/r/breakingbad/..._been_cast_in/ All other news regarding season 5 will go here. However, any posts regarding previous season, please include spoilers as we'd hate to deter potential new viewers. Thanks again and can't wait to enjoy the ride with you all again this year... For those who have yet to start watching this amazing series, first of all, what the fuck is the matter with you? And second of all you, you can currently watch the first three seasons on Netflix Watch Instantly. Also, as usual, here's the link to my wikia, which has so many contributors these days, I can barely manage it. If anyone would like to made an admin thee, send me a message here or there: www.breakingbad.wikia.com P.S. I still might make a soundtrack for season 4, I've just been super lazy. I hope there's no split. Eight episodes is too short

My stepdaughter watches a lot of Malcolm in the Middle and it cracks me up seeing Bryan Cranston in that role. Can't believe it's the same actor. I would never have thought Cranston had something as outright brilliant as his performances in Breaking Bad within him. Which isn't to say anything bad about his performance in Malcolm in the Middle. He was great in that. It's just that he's operating on a level I would never have thought him capable of in Breaking Bad.

Yeah...i'm really not keen on the idea of a split. It's bad enough waiting between seasons. Fuck...the wait between episodes is unbearable. Sixteen consecutive episodes of Breaking Bad sounds like TV nirvana to me.

I'm not a fan of them splitting the seasons either. It's just gonna prolong the end that we all want to see, and it'll make it feel like two different seasons in a way. They may even release them in two different DVD/Bluray box sets (like they did with the Sopranos.)
However, the good part of it is that the show will come back on the air sooner if they split the season up since they only have eight episodes to write and film at a time. Otherwise, they wouldn't bring the show back until all sixteen were completed. |

I can't wait for my favorite show to come back on either... In the mean time, here are some awesome paintings that a pair of artists have done in honor of the show:

![]() This at the time was a best snapshot of the relationship between Walt and Jesse, though their worlds have become chaotic they found something that neither one had before they met. But after the 4th season I just don't know.

I was watching Beverly Hills Cop today and my mind was blown. The bodyguard of Victor (the villain) is played by the same actor that plays Mike in Breaking Bad.

You beat me to it. I was going to recommend 48 Hrs, too.
Has anybody seen the promo for Krysten Ritter's new ABC sitcom Don't Trust The Bitch In Apartment 23? They have a bunch of people appear individually, testifying about the bad things her character did to them when they were roommates. The last person before the fade is Cranston and he says "She made me want to kill her." I've been laughing about that for days. Last edited by Buck Turgidson; 03-05-2012 at 05:47 PM.. I was watching old episodes of The X-Files over the weekend and I had no idea that Vince Gilligan was a producer on that show as well. But there it was, while I was watching, his name popped up. It was cool to see. This guy really knows good television!

He was executive producer, as well as writer/director on several episodes including "Pusher" and "Soft Light" with Tony Schalub. A lot of the actors on BrBa previously worked on The X-Files including Cranston, Paul, Norris, Cruz (Tuco) and the guy who plays Hank's boss, ASAC Merkert, as well as others...

the same thing with this season of The Walking Dead. Sad that this will be the final season. I've first started watching the boxsets last year and continuing it with season 4. I hope Vince Gilligan is working on another new project.

I actually loved watching House's relationship with Cuddy and then his descent into darkness throughout the season culminating to that great final scene where House runs his car into Cuddy's house and runs off. Also got to love the stunned look on Wilson's face when he did that.

According to Cranston himself, shooting is to resume soon, and S5 will begin airing in July.

Also there's a funny and interesting TV tournament going on Vulture.com for what's considered the Best TV Drama in the Last 25 Years... They just did their first round, which included Breaking Bad vs.... Friday Night Lights? I was perplexed by that choice, but it's an entertaining read. I feel it will all boil down to Breaking Bad vs. the Wire. http://www.vulture.com/2012/03/the-b...-25-years.html |

If the list doesn't boil down to BREAKING BAD vs THE WIRE then the list is wrong.

My favorite dramas of the last 25 years are 24, Lost and The X-Files. I'd love for one of them to be the ultimate winner.
Besides The Wire, I'm sure Mad Men will be up there too. Everybody seems to love that show. Everybody here loves Breaking Bad, but I'm betting instead of Breaking Bad it'll be Mad Men. A final round of Mad Men vs The Wire seems likely to me. EDIT: Looks like 24 isn't even a contender. Fortunately, Lost is. Unfortunately, they are going to have Lost go up against Mad Men in it's first round. ![]() It also looks like you guys are going to be right about it ultimately going to be Breaking Bad VS The Wire since The Wire and Mad Men will be going up against each other before then. Unless Mad Men actually beats The Wire. Then it would be Mad Men vs Breaking Bad. Last edited by ilovemovies; 03-11-2012 at 12:27 AM.. |

When I saw that they had The X-Files and The West Wing go up against each other, I was so afraid that The X-Files was gonna lose. So it was a real pleasant surprise to see that The X-Files had won. So glad. I'm sure The West Wing is a great show but The X-Files will forever be a favorite of mine!

Cranston and Paul have both confirmed a July air date for season 5!
Apparently Paul recently read the primiere script and said that fans should prepare for season five by stocking up on adult diapers... Also, Rian Johnson announced at WonderCon that he will be returning to direct an episode. Fans of "Fly" rejoice! |

LOVE Sopranos and Six Feet Under. I'd put BrBa over Sopranos because, I don't know, I guess the show feels "tighter" to me. But I love Tony Soprano and the supporting characters are heads and shoulders above those in BrBa. But The Sopranos never really had me feigning for the next episode. And Six Feet Under, unbelievable acting and characters but god damn did this show draiiinnnnn me.
