Help Corey Haim Get A Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

“A lot of untruths were printed about Corey and we feel that those wrongs need to be put right and the family deserve to know just how much he was loved and that we do not always believe what the media say. This campaign is a way of doing this. Justice for Corey and his family.

Corey stated he wanted a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. A fan of Corey’s on Twitter (@neverforgethaim) created an online petition through twitter (known as a ‘twitition’) and has begun a campaign in support of this, in order to get Corey the star he wanted.”

Joe Raffa and Harrison Smith (writers/producers) of forthcoming movie six Degrees of Hell, starring Corey Feldman agreed to back this campaign. Six Degrees of Hell tweet regularly about the campaign to their followers, wrote an extremely touching and passionate blog and are working on plans for helping bring this to fruition.

– The guys at Six Degrees of hell are working hard on this campaign including:
-They are in contact with the Haim Family who are assisting them in all ways possible
-Six Degrees have already arranged the official signatory for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce application forms and are in contact with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They are working on letters of influence and other stuff needed to support this application. There is a post-humous 5-yr ruling, as we all know, but Six Degrees are working on this. Who knows, maybe something can be done about this – we shall have to wait and see.
– They have events planned, where they will gather support from industry folk, including a Benefit Screening of Six Degrees of Hell in honour of Haim later this year
-Six Degs are working with various close friends of Corey and all are actively supporting the efforts being made.
-We are all busy ‘hitting up’ twitter accounts, FB pages, Website contact forms etc. We have had responses from a couple of ‘bigger players’ and felt that the follow-up was better from Six Degrees to ensure a professional approach but as and when there are updates on these they will of course be shared widely.
– We have recently made successful contact with the Web Mistress for Corey Haim’s site. She has now, very kindly, posted the links to the Twitter petition and Facebook page. There have of course been posts and blogs made on various fan-sites across the globe. These are captured on the FB page too.
-People like G Tom Mac, Alyssa Milano etc are aware of this campaign already so we don’t need to badger them about it.
– Liketotally80s.com published an article we submitted to them http://liketotally80s.com/corey-haim...wood-star.html
– Very importantly, Corey Feldman, Judy and Cari Haim are all aware of all of our efforts and are 100% on board with this project. I know some think Corey F has been pretty quiet on this, but when the time is right you will all hear him!

please share the information if you can. These are two important articles regarding this campaign and the media treatment of Corey.

No.

He was in all of one particularly good movie, Lucas, and was a teen star for a few years about 25 years ago. He has no legacy to speak of and didn't seem to be a particularly good actor or at least didn't choose quality roles. He was washed up for two decades then died from drug abuse. He's another in a long line of cautionary tales about child stars and not much more. That's not really "walk of fame" worthy. If every flash in the pan one-time famous person had a star, there'd be no regular sidewalk left in LA.

I'm also not sure you know what "important" means.

I respect your opinion.

But can I correct you, Corey died of pnuemonia. The coroner confirmed he had been clean for some weeks before death. He was also born with the heart condition that contributed to his early death.

He was blacklisted in Hollywood and this is why his career stalled further. If youo red the article you'll understand.

Unfortunately now hollywood promotes and enjoys drug addictions - Michael Jackson, Judy Garland, Heath Ledger, Lyndsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Charlie Sheen, Robert Downey Jr. It even puts drunk drivers, Kiefer Sutherland fresh out of prison on the WOF.

If you read back on River Phoenix, you'll commonly find that his addictions were covered as much as possible by the powers in hollywood because he was a money machine at the time.

Remember, not everything the media says about a person is true.

"Corey’s influence on the entertainment field is still visible, with 2002 movie Detour naming a lead character after Corey, Irish alternative rock band the Thrills 2004 single “Whatever happened to Corey Haim”, LA based close harmony trio HAIM named their band after Corey, and most visibly, that Corey drew hundreds of people to the conventions he attended in the last years of his life. A star on the walk of fame would finally give Corey acknowledgment and acceptance into the industry has that tried to deny his existence. To give something back to Corey, who had so much taken from him by Hollywood.
So, I believe that it’s time for the real Corey Haim to be honoured" www.justiceforcorey.blog.com

No. While I wished him no ill will, he never did anything remarkable enough in his career to merit a star on the walk of fame.

Update received from the Amazing Six Degrees of Hell folk today following their trip to LA and their tweet last night (https://twitter.com/6degreesofhell/s...57706681765889 )

* The makers of American Sunset already have their Corey site (http://coreyhaimremembered.com/ ) and are now onboard with our campaign and as a result will be offering a ‘Special’ on the American Sunset DVD where a percentage of the cost will be donated to the cost of the star.

We all want to be a part of securing the star for Corey. We have tweeted, Facebooked, signed a petition AND NOW we will be able to say we helped raise the funds – and even have a keepsake at the end of it in the form of a DVD to watch over and over...... Once the offer is available we will ensure the link is tweeted and added to the ‘Official’ Facebook page and posted everywhere possible.
To make this happen you do all need to buy, buy, buy tho

* There was a red carpet event in LA this week, for forthcoming movie The Fields, which had a very high celeb and industry folk turnout. Harrison, together with a personal friend of the Haim Family, begun collecting signatures in support of our campaign, as well as personal endorsement letters too. The Chamber of Commerce will be shown the start of this letter gathering in the forthcoming weeks.

* The Benefit screening of Six Degrees of Hell is still planned for later in the year

* Corey Feldman, as said in the last update, is totally up-to-date on all developments and completely on board. So no need to clog his twitter timeline and Facebook page with requests on this please – We don’t want to put people off by applying constant pressure

* Keep doing what you are doing peeps to drum up support and to get this campaign out there

WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED x

No, there are are better actors out there that still do not have a star. Haim has two movies that have a devoted and loyal fan base, The Lost Boys and Lucas. Most of his other movies people like to make fun of. He gave a good performance in Lucas and that was about it. He did a lot in his short life but most of it was not that good. The Walk of Fame is an elite club that takes a lot of actors their whole damn careers to get on. I don't think Haim deserves to be in that club. If they give him a star than John Cazele deserves one first.

Calling all Corey Haim fans
#HaimArmy
#GiveCoreyaStar - Update III

A list of current supporters http://givecoreyastar.tumblr.com/pos...y-wall-of-fame

Exciting News received today from 6 Degrees of Hell.

Work has continued on securing official nomination letters to add to those that were gathered at the recent red carpet event in LA. We now have some big names supporting our efforts including Mickey Rooney and Dick Van Dyke!

This portfolio of letters will be presented to the Chamber of Commerce in the coming few weeks and the groundwork has been laid to waive the mandatory 5 year waiting period for a deceased celebrity. This is by no means confirmed but those involved are hopeful. We are asking for rules to be ‘bent’ here so this is being handled carefully by our ‘representatives’

There is of course the fee!. To pull this off we need to raise that fee.
There will be the 6 Degrees of Hell benefit screening, mentioned previously, to which a huge number of A-listers will be invited.

We also have the American Sunset campaign – We need to promote this. We need people to purchase that DVD.
One Corey Haim Facebook page has 11,000+ members – imagine if they all purchased one!!
Time to ‘up the ante’ folks and push this out there. Tweet it, Facebook it, 'Post' it anywhere and everywhere.

If you need the links to the Twitition, Facebook Page, American Sunset deal etc – please shout! Any ideas you have – share them. We can make them work!

http://twitition.com/a5xkh THE PETITION

or give a like on FB if you don't have a twitter

DONATE DIRECT TO COREY'S STAR - we have 57 DAYS to do this people! http://www.indiegogo.com/CoreyHaim

Sponsored by "6 Degrees of Hell" to assist a fan drive to secure a star for the late actor on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This movement is personally endorsed by Haim's mother, Judy.

We have secured an official Hollywood manager to sign the proper petition by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the paperwork is ready to go. There is a fee of over $30,000.00 USD We are asking $40,000 in the event this fee changes over time or any additional "contingencies" are involved.

We have met with the Chamber of Commerce to relax the "five year waiting period" on deceased celebrities. The Chamber is open to this consideration provided the fee is able to be paid up front.

Why Help?
Corey Haim gave a lot of memories to a lot of people and a generation of film goers. His unfortunate death at a young age left behind a legacy of entertainment that should be recognized with the most basic of Hollywood awards.

Have been asked to post this official statement on this by producers of 6 degrees of hell.

----

"This is in response to a posting that was blatant in its ignorance. While anyone is free to express their opinion, please your have facts straight. This is a lot to ask for these days for Internet comments and posts, but we do ask for people to try. Our response is posted within the body of the original comment for accuracy.

"Hate to be a party pooper, but were only a month away and the donation isn't even at the quarter mark yet. What happened to all these bigwig fundraisers that were suppose to take place?”

As producer of Corey Feldman's "6 Degrees of Hell" we can validate Feldman's involvement. A simple look at his Twitter timeline will show his commitment to getting a star for Corey Haim. Additionally, our film has secured a Hollywood manager to sign the official Hollywood Walk of Fame application. Our film is working in tandem with Corey Haim's mother, Judy in this effort. All of this is clearly documented.

As for "all these bigwig fundraisers" this person stated: There are two major events planned for the upcoming fall that will involved a screening of "6 Degrees of Hell." Being that our film is a horror movie, we all felt it would be best to screen it closer to Halloween in Los Angeles. Before posting such ignorance to a public forum, a simple question posted to the multiple venues for a direct response instead of a public forum like IMDB would have yielded a quicker answer. Once again the temptation for people to "be seen" in a public forum over rides simple logic and most of all courtesy.

“And you keep saying Corey Feldman is involved. The only thing I've heard of him lately is about a 300 pound woman who won't leave his house.”

Feldman recently held an online web chat session that was overtly advertised on Twitter in which a lot of people participated and got confirmation from the actor himself of his participation in the star cause for his former friend. Feldman has posted on the 6 Degrees of Hell Facebook his support for the star numerous times and a simple Tweet to him online will give anyone he responds to a confirmation from the star himself.

By citing his personal issue, shows ignorance and the usual laziness of those who expect their information handed to them without the requisite due diligence of a responsible "fan." This person's post also highlights the most basic and naive understanding of Hollywood as "big wig fundraiser" was never stated or promised. The hope for our screening benefit is that a number of high profile celebrities that are known to have been close to late actor will attend. They will certainly be invited, but never once was a "big wig" fundraiser stated in such a manner or implied or alluded to. If you're going to post such negativity, get your facts straight.

“And if the funds aren't collected by the deadline, who does that money go to? This whole thing reminds me of Corey’s funeral donations that never made it to the funeral home.”

If you read our Indiegogo home page it clearly states that any funds raised are RETURNED to the donors should the effort not make its goal. In setting this up, we knew ahead of time of concern of funds not only being raised but being used. Connecting our effort to a failed previous campaign is not only ignorant and incorrect, it smacks of libel and slander. Be careful of what you post in a public forum and have the decency to sign your full name to it when making such misinformed comments.

While we have no control over previous campaigns and no knowledge of how they were run, managed or mismanaged, this effort is being run through a legitimate film, with a celebrity and a manager all up front about the effort. To infer impropriety with monies collected, you should take into account Haim's own mother's public support for this effort. You are therefore trying to say that all of these people in a very public light may mishandle funds without any accountability. This is patently untrue and insulting.

“I'd love to see Corey get a star. But it seems like were being given false information.”

You are uniformed and posted outright incorrect accusations and statements without the least bit of understanding or research. Party pooper indeed. Should you have any educated questions about the campaign you can contact us at sixdegreesofhell@gmail.com and an informed and accurate response will be given. Should you also have any further issues, you are free to contact The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at their website to also ask such questions as they are fully aware of this campaign.

No one is forced or compelled to donate a dime. Should the Indiegogo fail in its goal, not a single credit card, Pay Pal account is charged a penny. The money is lost. Period.

We understand the Internet is full of scam artists and liars. We are running a legitimate campaign and doing so very publicly with a public celebrity, a public motion picture and Corey Haim's own mother. Between Twitter, the campaign's various ways to contact and the film's own email and active Twitter account, posting such "false information" on a public forum shows me more of someone searching for their 15 seconds of fame than accurate information. In the time it took to write such a statement or even the time it has now taken to respond to it, the aforementioned ways to confirm and dispel such concerns could have remedied the situation.

Thank You. sixdegreesmovie.com sixdegreesofhell@gmail.com"
