Pet Sematary or Pet Sematary Two

I think the subject speaks for itself. I love the second one, but the first one has Fred Gwynne...but the daughter is such a bitch... The second has Edward Furlong of T2 fame and also Anthony Edwads of ER fame. And also the awesome Clancy Brown. What's everyone's opinion?
Keep it real, all opinions are good!

The first one by far because it's such a scary and depressing movie with some good acting.

Not to say Pet Sematary 2 is terrible, because it features some good gore and a fantastic performance from the one and only Clancy Brown. L7's Shitlist is such a catchy song, that I like it a lot as well and it's used great in the movie.

BATTLE OF THE PET SEMATARIES

Oh my God...no contest! Part One by far! Two was equivalent to the rotting animal carcasses that were featured throughout!

love the first one, possibly the best adaptation of a king story. dark and grim just like the book. pet sematary 2 only had clancy brown going for it.

They both rocked my socks, but I have to side with everyone here when they say the first one is leagues better.

I remember I was on the edge of my seat the whole time during it, just waiting for something to jump out.

This is like asking which form of torture do you want, electrical shock or watching an Olsen twin movie? In other words both are absolutely painful. But I suppose Part 1 is slightly less painful.

On a **** scale:

Pet Semetary *
Pet Semetary 2 1/2*

I loved the first movie. One of the best Stephen King adaptations.
Great cast as well. The second one had some good moments but overall I felt it lacking. Definitely the first all the way, especially with the Zelda scene.

Wow, a lot of hate here.

Haven't watched Part 2 in a long time, but i recently picked up Part 1 at Wal-Mart. I liked it. Well acted and very depressing with a dark ending. Good Stuff. 7/10

The first one is pretty good (PLUS it has Herman Munster in it!). The sequel just blows. What a terrible movie.

Haven't seen the second one, but I really didn't see the appeal of the original Pet Sematary. Maybe it appeals more to the people that've read the books. To me, it came off as a daytime soap opera type affair, particularly in the acting and general look of things. I know other who love Miko Hughes in this but I found he just wasn't capable of portraying the creepiness I felt his reanimated version was supposed to possess.

The South Park lampoon of Fred Gwynne was funny though. "You don't wanna go down that roh-d..."

I haven't seen either of these movies in more than five years so my opinion may have changed drastically but I remember both movies being pretty good. The first being a genuinely interesting movie and the sequel being a "so bad its good" film. Either way they worked for me. I am quite surprised at the hate for these films. Especially the first one. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Pet Semetary 2 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. So that would be a vote for the original.

I haven't seen the second film since I was about 8, so my vote goes towards the original. I am a huge fan of the novel, and the film has its merits, the best of which being Judd. I think that it qualifies as a classic in its own right, considering how many iconic scenes and characters that it has. The second I actually remember enjoying quite a bit as a kid, but sometimes things aren't always so great once you take off your rose-tinted glasses of youth.

Pet Sematary > Pet Sematary Two

I thought the first was one of the most geniune and terrifying movies ever, it was much more memorable for me. The sequel was just a typical horror sequel, it just falls flat in comparision to the original.
