For the first time in seven years, U.K. post-punk pioneers New Order will return to North America for a string of shows this October. The seven-date tour kicks off on October 5th at San Francisco's Oakland Fox Theatre and swings through Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas, New York City, Chicago and Toronto.
"We’ve been having such a great time together this year, playing shows all over Europe, and we're all really excited to be playing America again," says singer Bernard Sumner, referring to the group's recent festival dates and sold-out U.K. tour. "We have so many friends and fans there we can't wait to get back!"
The trek will also mark New Order's first stateside run without original bassist Peter Hook, who left the band in 2007 and was replaced by Tom Chapman.
The group's last stateside show was back in May 2005 at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom. Their Toronto date marks the group's first concert in Canada since 2001.

... don't know how many of you out there are New Order fans, but i just wanted to post the heads up. as mentioned above(and you probably already know), they don't come to North America often. even without Hooky, you may want to catch them this time around. who knows how long it's going to be before they come around again.
